Multiple copy of an email

I hope someone can help! In the past two hours, I have received 60 copies of the same email. The sender is on AOL. I am on a local server. I notified my tech support. Sender notified AOL. I'm still getting the emails--every two minutes. Any suggestions?

Are these emails from someone you know on AOHell or a stranger?

Try right clicking on a couple then click Properties then Details and check to see if they are coming from the same address or only similar.

I checked out the properties and they were all coming from the same person--someone I know! I finally emailed my local server and asked them to block the sender. I haven't had any emails for the past 45 minutes. I wish I knew if it was an AOL problem, my friend's computer, or my local server. But, I'm happy that they have stopped!

(Gee, I hope that all makes sense.) Yes it makes sense. When I post, I consider if it is a thread that I really want to receive the follow-up replies...like I don't check the box on any posts at the Seed Exchange Conversations, but will always check the box if I am posting a trade. I have often wondered why anyone would check the box on a post they would start here, for another member. I reading your post, I assume that some folks just automatically check the box on everything, like automatically. Wouldn't it be great if there was a way to persuade the site administrators to disable the "follow-ups" checkbox in the "Rate & Review Exchanges" forum? I really doubt if it is anything they could or would do. You might make a suggestion though at The Suggestion Forum btw...you explained it quite clearly. If one did accidentally check the box, and soon realized it, they could request that the post be pulled via the Contact Us link at the bottom of any page. Sue

Some of us do not get an email even when we check "Check here if you would like copies of follow-ups to your message emailed to you" I have run tests on the test forum and I never get one even when the option is checked. The only point to this paragraph is to call attention to the final paragraph in this follow-up. If you want to see replies there are several options. If you use one of these options you do not need to turn email reply off. An easy option to just drag the url of your thread to the bar (usually) below back, forward etc. If you want to watch your thread for a long time make a folder and bookmark it. When you are no longer interested just delete the link. Getting new options programmed here seems to be hopelessly frustrating.

I've right clicked on the link and clicked on "copy shortcut". I then put the cursor in the address bar to paste it, BUT, the link ends up here in this little message box that I'm replying to you from instead of in the address bar. I've never had this trouble before. Why is it going into this message box instead of the address bar? Now, when I'm trying to do this outside of this message box (or website): The cursor moves away from the address bar after clicking on "edit", meaning that anything under "edit" is not highlighted to click on. Very confusing to me.

I have a friend on AOL....and she sent four emails (all the same) about 8 minutes apart. After the four came in rapid fire, there were no more. I notified my friend. I didn't know what was going on, so I told her to run a virus scan. It has not happened again. I am not sure if she found anything or not.

I will be interested in following this thread to see if someone can come up with an answer.
