What do you mean by registry fix? Most here advise leaving the registry alone. Sounds as if you might need to clear your cache and temporary files. Which version of Windows do you use---XP, Vista, Win7?

I highly recommend using CCleaner for cleaning these things. Use just the cleaner part.

yes what exactly do you mean by registry fix? are you using a registry cleaner? if so which one. And grandms is correct using registry cleaners is not advocated.

I know what I'd try.. use adobe flash uninstaller,, unintall java if not current version.... run ccleaner then reinstall current java and flash. But first.. run malwarebytes full scan and update your virus progam if needed.

I plead ignorance with the computer. My husband usually takes care of things and if he's too busy, I just have to deal with the frustration.
"Registry Fix" is a program that cleans up your computer.....removes history, duplicate files, and "optimizes computer health and performance". It repairs problems.
(quit laughing). :)
I'll show my husband your suggestions and hopefully we can get this working better.
We did switch from dial-up to using an at&t thing you plug into the side of the PC's monitor, which gives us wireless. It has definitely sped up things, but is it possible its causing some of these problems?

I highly advise you junk that registry fix program and quit using it, you can end up with some very serious problems by using registry cleaners.

the ones that are safe to use are ccleaner (with out using the registry cleaner part) and very safe is ATF cleaner which is what I recommend.

I would be afraid using that registry fix program that often may be what is causing your problems.

The AT&T "thing" should not be the cause of your problem. All it does is give you a connection to the internet via a cellular tower.

Follow RC's suggestions and do a good general clean-up of your computer. Depending on the operating system you have, you have a good disk cleanup program which will clean up a lot of clutter. Use the Malwarebytes program to check for "baddies", and run defrag.

As you were basically advised, be sure the current version of Java, Shockwave and Flash are installed. Unless I missed it you didn't identify which browser you wish to use. If the browser is obsolete, such as IE6, it needs to be upgraded. Have you tried more than one browser?
