Surprise to me, I got an email back this morning from Lexmark noting my input relative both their web page design and to the lack of support for Firefox. Two days, not bad for a web input to a vendor about give-away software. He said they have a lot of request for Firefox support, and are "working" on it. Good for Lexmark!

Thanks Raven. I don't think this is a windows resizing issue (although that could be a troubling feature worth turning off as well). The last article you linked had this in it - which might be what I"m experiencing: "But I have another problem, how do you turn off the blue grids when it comes to internet explorer/firefox? It snaps into small grids when i move them to the edge!" But that was one of the last posts - and nobody addressed a solution. It's not the window shrinking in half. It's an open tab/web page - shrinking to maybe 1/6 of the page or less - and it might be as though it was being shrunk into a rectangle in a grid. Interesting to read how many annoying features people have discovered in Windows 7 - that are set by default. I'm still on XP - so I won't know this stuff if my daughter runs into trouble. Thanks. I work in a hospital as the Website Coordinator and since 90% of our user's has a resolution of 800x600 or greater, we ran into a printing problem. (i.e. the right side of page getting cut off) I believe a printer will only print 640 across. It might even be a little less, but I know 800 pixels will get cut off. Our solution? Have a "printer friendly version" button that removes the template and just diplays the text. Click here to see Newsletter Try "File/Print Preview" to see how it gets cut off. Now press the "Print Friendly button" and do a preview again. The text will automatically justify to the printers margins. (landscape or portrait) I'd forget about the printversion.doc idea. Since Word docs can have macros embedded with viruses and crap... a lot of people will not open them. You have 2 easy options though. 1. Get Adobe Acrobat. (you'll need more then the free version if you want to create PDF's) 2. Create another HTML document with just the page content and not the template. Do not follow those directions. The w3c (World Wide Web Consortium, the people who create web standards) specifically designed CSS (Cascading style sheets) to be able to handle specific types of media, including printing. Using a CSS page (set for media="print") allows you to not have to make a separate printer friendly page. CSS separates content from design ie your .html page would have <p class="main_text">Some text here<p> and the .css page (linked in a <link> tag) will have p.main_text " color: #999; font-size: 2em; > Now if every page linked to that style sheet and I wanted to change the way that the text displayed I can change it in one place and it will affect the whole site. Print stylesheets offer special commands that printers can understand, such as where to put page breaks, whether a page is a left or a right (for double sided printing), margins etc. You can also turn elements of your page "off" by using "display: none;" This way you can turn off things like a navigation bar (who needs to see that on a printed web page?). If you are going to be creating a website XHTML and CSS are the de facto standards for all future web design as layed out by the w3c. There are plenty of tutorials on web. Good luck.
