adobe reader 9.X

I received a update for adobe reader 9.X.. it was installed & now my Secunia says it is a threat. On my add & delete I have 9.1.2. what should I do now? I guess I need to click on the solution but why did I receive something to install that is a threat? What adobe reader should I have?

I have no clue why Secunia says it's a threat the latest version of Adobe is 9.1 looks like you have the right version installed.

I got rid of of Adobe a long time ago an installed foxit reader.

Adobe is big an basically all it does is read PDF files.

Maybe ... if it was servered up with an expired trust certificate from somewhere other than adobe you don't know if its been hacked or not. It becomes a file from another computer and is always suspect ... you might be able to go into its properties and personally approve it.

I don't know how securina thinks & also haven't used Adobe Reader in quite a long time. Use PDF-XChange here.

The document needs to be created as a "form" to easily fill out the fields. Otherwise, use the annotation menu and create text boxes. The latter tends to be rather slow and labor intensive depending on how many fields you need to fill in.

Thanks Mikie, I appreciate the link and answer. She seems to have some aversion to using Firefox, though I can't figure why. I tried to explain how easy it is to use, the explanations for what things are and how to use them are understandable, but she won't listen, and installed a different browser. Don't know why she asks for advice then refuses to take it. I gave her lots of options for browser, malware detection, virus detection, and she still managed to get a bunch of crap on her new computer. Don't understand how. The Norton is a 90day pre-install. I think I'm going to give up on the advice. I have a new computer also, and have not downloaded crapware doing installs of this that and the other. I guess I know a little more and understand more of what I do know. Thanks again for the help.

Thanks Mikie, again! It is the same one I tried to install. It has their toolbar. Its almost impossible to get rid of it once installed. They have made it mandatory to take their seach toolbar with the free ZA. Probably even throw it in with the paid version. Last year you could install by clicking 'skip all offers' but even clicking it installs the search toolbar. I'm running Win XP and need a firewall. Jane

Hmmm seem I need to do away with adobe reader & get something else.
Mikie your post kinda scares me. How do I know if it has been hacked? I did the solution & Secunia also gave me this:

I use pdf-xchange also and really like it, foxit reader is good but you now have to watch out that you do not get any of the extra junk when you install it. I hate programs that want to install junk and have it selected by default.
