Picture viewing in threads.

Could someone do a test for me? In a thread upload one picture from some where like photo bucket (label it photo bucket). And then upload a picture from the new gardenweb directions, label it. -- I think I am not seeing any of the photos with the new GW directions. TIA.

I could be wrong, but I think the new gardenweb photo option only allows the photo to be uploaded directly from your computer. Not from a photo hosting site.

I know that but I am seeing threads with apparent pictures by the posts that follow but I see no pictures. Then I see a post and I do see the pictures. I believe I am not seeing any of the pictures that posters are using the new feature.

Peppernovice, threads will stay blue (unread) if you post to that thread. You will have to go back into the thread without posting for it to change color. If it is happening after opening the thread but not posting, then I don't know what would be causing that. Bruce

Thank you, Ladies! In spite of my touch pad and the fact that when I "right click" on the image it gives me the prompt: "Copy Image Address" rather than Locations (which saves me the time of highlighting and copying the long string of characters), the directions were perfect. I will copy these and keep it for future reference. For now, I'm going to post more lovely pictures. Thank you!

Let's keep this on tip along with the Read Me thread.... MudHouse - I will be starting a new Read Me thread in the near future (I can no longer edit the original one), so I would like to add this one to the list of temporary (I hope) topics. I'm also going to add a message telling people to start their own thread if they have questions to (1) minimize hijacking of threads and (2) try to stop people from reviving old threads with their (new) question. There's probably nothing that can be done about the pros who are self-advertising themselves by pretending to help the OP of a thread that's years old...

You can see just about the title of this post "Image File to upload (optional) and a browse button.

I assume that you can just browse your camera drive to upload directly.

I see both Ann T & dedtired pictures. I have tried a couple of times for test pictures using the new feature but so far have failed.

Does Tamera have contact info? I am quite sure it is just the pictures uploaded with the new feature that I am not able to view. I have also tried a few times to upload with the new feature and no picture is there for me to see.

I wrote this in the original post that ann t linked to above.
I was unable to view the pics using the new GW feature, but it was a setting on my computer.
Hope this helps.

dedtired~ great method to be able to post more than one picture in a post - extra steps, but nice to know you can still use Photobucket and GW in the same post.

I can see all images on this forum, or at least I think I can. I see both of Pam's, and I've never had the sense that I missed a photo. But, on the decorating forum there are pictures that don't appear in threads that refer to them. I have Firefox set to automatically load images.
So I tried disabling AdBlock Plus, and that worked. Why would a .jpg uploaded to GardenWeb trigger AdBlock Plus?
