Samsung FD Fridge - deli drawer sticks!
Comments (2)Oh wonderful! I've got that model coming on Saturday from Sears Outlet, which sells scratch and dent and customer returns. I'll have to check it out at the store now....See MoreDo you love your Samsung 29cf FD Fridge?
Comments (6)Thanks jagzand and fwhartford. We've had the fridge only since the beginning of November, and so far so good. I did get the extended warranty from Sears, but I can cancel it any time during the regular one-year warranty period and get a full refund. I figured I would see how the fridge performed for the first few months, and if all seemed well, cancel the extended warranty. I am sure the Samsung is much more energy efficient than the fridge it replaced-- most of the time I cannot hear the compressor running at all. The 29 cf replaced Samsung's 26 cf model, and I think that one had high marks for reliability. Jagzand, the other appliances are a 36" Bluestar RNB range, a GE Monogram Advantium, a GE Monogram ZET oven, a 48" Futuro Futuro hood, a Bosch 800 series DW (not pictured), and a 24", 10 CF LG fridge (I use it as a "kid fridge"-- same footprint as fridge drawers but a whole lot more room). Very happy with all the appliances, though I think at times I would have been better off with a 30" Bluestar, as the 36" has a gigantic oven cavity. Glad I went with the fatty fridge!...See MoreYes/No/Alternate? Bosch induction and DW, Samsung Fridge FD.
Comments (5)Hey BalTra! Another vegetarian here and I understand your concern regarding the oven. I don't use mine very much... Papa Murphy's pizza, holidays and occasional casserole dish. Our Bosch oven does have some interesting other features such as a dehydrator setting that I will use one of these days. I have a SHE 45 model Bosch DW and agree regarding the smallness and inflexibility of it if you use lots of ceramic bowls etc. It runs fairly quietly but really needs the rinse agent as I have discovered. The cycles are usually around 100 minutes with the quick wash exception. You learn to run it before you need that one dish.... I have either the same or similar cooktop that Numbers has and agree with her comments. Love how easy it is to clean up and I have the silver strips. We debated about having it set into the counter flush versus perched on top. Unless you have great faith in your countertop co. I would consider the strips and perch position for your cooktop. My advice regarding your frig is to make sure that the path from your front door to the spot is big enough for your frig. We nearly bought a slightly larger standard depth Samsung model that alas wouldn't have made it into our kitchen. Good Luck!...See MoreSamsung FD fridge owners:
Comments (21)I think I like the message-stickie aspect of magnetic fridge sides. I'm just slow to accept change I think. I think of fridge's essential nature as being magnetic and holding info. I like that about them. I think of them as the nerve center of the family; information and snacks. What more is there to life? And I agree, "formal" is the essential difference, not necessarily done-done-ness. Thanks for the pictures; that's incredibly helpful. As the sides are grey it seems to me that that's just potentially another color and texture to account for then when adding in countertop and backsplash to the mix. We started with our floors, are choosing cabinet fronts and then countertop, though that's sort of an anchor too (just not finalized) and I'll keep that grey in mind, probably. I think I would rather the space devoted to the box to be inside a drawer, all things considered. So I'll choose (at least that's how I'm swaying this particular second) no-box.......See Moreww340
