So glad to be home at last

Well after 3 days on the road we made it home all in one pieces, except for the exploded barbie cake but that is another story:) We had a great time and lots of adventures and a few misadventures but none that couldn't be overcome and were learning experience.

I did get to do some shopping at the St. Louis Trader Joes, Pick up some Southern goodies (3 kinds of corn meal, grits:) and louisiana Hot Sauce, Pecans and peaches from Georgia, tomatoes, corn, watermelons, and yellow squash from Florida roadside stand, and a stop at World Market in Kansas City for some extras. Now to unload the vehicle in the morning. And get back into the swing of things. Laundry will be going like made and finding places for all the new food goodies, when my cupboards are full.

We did have some surprises at home, A pet passed away, Rhiannon's birthday cake exploaded on the ride from Grandma's, and with 8 inches of rain in almost 2 weeks, and the people that we hired to mow the lawn, were to lazy to mow the back yard, Saw Dh's stepdad and realize that it is time to look into assisted living ( they kept the boys and my mil said that the kids were the easy part, her DH is the hard part, the only thing he can do for himself is feed himself, so will be dealing with that in the next few weeks.. But like I reminded Dan that the important thing is the fun that we had, the memories we made with the kids and that we are at home safe.
