Are you referring to the dock? The toolbar is the menu @ the top of the screen - the dock is the thing w/ icons.The dock preferences in the Apple menu should enable you to configure that. Did you try clicking the little apple @ the top left of your screen? Yosemite is so new, I imagine it has a number of bugs that will be revealed as more folks start converting to it. Have you checked the Apple.com support pages & looked to see if there any discussion of this on the boards there? If not, you can post a message & hopefully get answers there. Holly-Kay - I'm so glad you mentioned the learning curve with your Mac. I've only ever used a PC and I now have a new Macbook Pro. There are times I want to scream at my kids "It isn't as intuitive as everyone claims!!!!!" The only reason I have this is because my Droid smart phone was 5 years old and I wanted a new phone with better photo capabilities. All of my friends have iPhones, iPads, and various iApple computers. My kids (who use PC's by the way) insisted that I'd love an iPhone so that's what I got. I do like the phone. DD's laptop crashed and I gave her my Dell which put me back in the market for a new laptop. Those same kids all said I should get a Mac since it would sync with my phone and all of my photos would be on both. Oh yes. How true but also how annoying. If I delete a photo on my phone I still have to delete it on my Mac. Then I discovered that Apple second guesses you and even after deleting the photo on my Mac it's still there in two other locations. A month after getting the Mac I won an iPad Air. It's a handy little device but I actually like my Kindle Fire better. Now I have photos coming out of my ears. Then DH bought me an iWatch for Mother's day. I returned it the day after. The best part of having the Mac though is that I bought the Apple 1 to 1 and now when I go to the store for a training session I lug my iPhone, iPad and Mac and ask a zillion questions. That is worth dealing with the learning curve. Oh....back to your original question. I've always used a mouse on my PC's but I didn't buy a mouse with the Mac because I was annoyed at how overpriced Apple products are and as a result I've gotten quite adept with the mousepad. My Macbook Pro is about 6 months old and I only have to lightly touch the pad. I'll probably never buy a mouse.

If you have malwarebytes, free, it will remove those. Malwarebytes is a safe and easy program, highly recommended.

I had a 6 year old Mac Airbook that I loved. However, I spilt some tea and the right shift key stopped working. I loved that computer so much that I kept using it with only a left shift key for over a year. Then the touch pad became wonky and it was getting really slow. Long story short, in January I was just "looking" at Best Buy and went home with a brand new Mac Book Pro. They had zero financing and a long try at home period. Now I don't know why I suffered so long with a malfunctioning Mac Air. To answer your original question I had always been a PC user and for somethings I do prefer a PC. If you are doing any picture editing, or art designing go with the Mac Book. My friend has a 15 inch MacBook and uses it for Photoshop but finds it too heavy to take on photo travel. He may buy a smaller 13 inch just so he can carry it on trips without breaking his back.
