get rid of the darn thing?

I know I've asked this before, but I can't find the post with the answer.

I've just gotten the newest FF browser for my ***new Mac***laptop. It's taking up space, and I never use it, but I cant figure out how to make it go away.

Right click on the top tool bar and uncheck bookmarks toolbar.

Bob, thank you for the suggestion. After looking up how to right-click on this baby (!!!!), I right-clicked every space that might be considered a "top toolbar" and a few more besides. Nowhere did I see a place that would allow me to uncheck bookmarks. I can vaguely remember doing that on my XP when I got it so I'm sure you're right, but I'm missing something somewhere now. Any ideas?

Firefox ... another quick way also (for many things); 1.Enter about:config into the address bar and hit Enter. 2.Press the "I"ll be carefull." button. 3.Enter browser.urlbar.maxRichResults in the Filter field. Right click and edit. 4.Set it to any number of suggestions.

I just did a quick check and it seems to work fine for me: CTRL-B to open bookmarks at left. Then drag the SYMBOL that's in front of the address into the bookmark FOLDER NAME (not into the body of the list). (You're basically dropping the link onto the folder's NAME). You can do the same thing with the bookmarks toolbar for your most used stuff. Be sure to rename it something short, so you can squeeze more links onto the toolbar. (right click the link, then properties...)

Zep Thanks but I am still having trouble. I did what you said but I entered about 5 new tabs because I would like to have just the headlines from each site and then if I am interested I can click on the headline. But when I put in about 5 different tabs on top, then go to options and set it, I get the first entire page only not bits from each one. Do you know what I mean?

Go to "View", then Toolbars and uncheck Bookmarks
