Zep Thanks but I am still having trouble. I did what you said but I entered about 5 new tabs because I would like to have just the headlines from each site and then if I am interested I can click on the headline. But when I put in about 5 different tabs on top, then go to options and set it, I get the first entire page only not bits from each one. Do you know what I mean?

These little things that whip up fast are so satisfying when the appliqué goes so slowly. ;> Plus, handwork is new to me so this was a useful object that I wanted to have available. I like that it stands up by itself when it's stretched out a little. It took less than 2 FQs but if you used the same fabric for the lining you could do it with one. You could also vary the length or depth at will. I used one 7"x13" section for the back pocket so that the flap was long enough to wrap over the front. I interfaced the front piece (1/2 of one 7"x8" piece) and the back one for a little sturdier constitution but the original blogger just seems to have chosen a heavier weight fabric than quilting cotton. I like the softness of hers. Thanks for admiring the orange print. I just had to pick it up when I needed the aqua piece for my appliqué project. They just seemed to go together so well in the FQ bin I wasn't going to be the one to separate them. ;>

First, it all looks like Red Oak to me so I think White Oak is a misdirection. The cross strip looks lighter on the right because of the light exposure on the left and narrower graining while the wider grain on the right picks up more stain and looks darker. A seemingly obvious solution (aka silver bullet) would be to lightly abrade the surface finish on the cross pieces and apply a coat or two of tinted poly, then a clear coat. We often add up to 8 ounces of Duraseal stain to a gallon of oil poly. It doesn't change the color a lot but it does mix well and we have no adhesion problems. When it dries It can be darker than when wet and it's easy to get it too dark so the best approach is to use multiple thin coats to sort of sneak up on the correct color. DO NOT try to apply any stain over the poly without sanding to raw wood. It won't adhere and your problem will be worse. FYI, even if/when all the floors are refinished the cross pieces would likely look lighter. They're newer wood, run perpendicular to the rest and catch the light differently. Look at some room scene pictures of parquet floors and you'll see.
