My son got me a flash drive for a Christmas gift and we used it to carry everything I wanted to have on my new computer by dragging the folders to the flash drive until it was filled, then transfered the files to the new computer. Then transferred the files on the flash drive to the new hard drive in the new computer.

I have some old messages that I would like to keep that are in Outlook Express. Is there a way that I can transfer the data to a flash drive? In OE, I open up the message and save it to my Desktop. Then I insert my flash drive which I have open. Then I drag the OE letter onto the drive.

You can put a label in the slot with the flash drive or if you have a label maker you can put a label or code right on the flash drive. My little 4GB drive performs beautifully, but I "needed" more space. Bought a 16GB drive that is just giving me fits. At first I thought that the problem could be that I transport data from a Mac to a PC and vice versa. But I found that even when I go strictly from Mac to Mac or PC to PC, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It often creates its own file names with characters that won't allow me to copy from the disk. Each time, I have to reformat it, and it works for a bit again and I think I've conquered it. Then it performs badly again. Yesterday I loaded several zipped files onto it and when I got home and tried to open them, they were all corrupt. But I checked the files here at work, and they open fine. I returned a previous drive for the same bad behavior, and this is a different brand from a different seller, so I think there is just something I am missing - a little trick, if you will. I'd sure love to figure it out.
