youtube video doesn't run on Firefox

I can view youtube videos with IE 7 just fine.

But when using Firefox, I only see a black box. No controls visible either.

I updated Adobe Flash Player to version 10.0.22.87 -- but still have the same result. (sigh)

So, I figure I'm missing something. But what is it? And where is it?

After installing the new version of flash, did you let Firefox restore prior session? I've noticed that doing so can interfere with getting new versions installed.

No. I never do that.

I neglected to mention that I also tried closing and reopening Firefox after the update. Then I also tried restarting computer. Neither worked/helped.

Any other thoughts?

That video is EXACTLY my situation except the dryer roof cap is at the very top, not near the gutter for easy access. There is also a steep pitch to the roof. I bought this item off Amazon very similar to what this guy is using in the video and I can't believe how easy it was and how well it worked. The only difference is that I did mine from the inside up to the top. Make sure there is no screen on your roof cap where lint can get caught. Once I ran the brush up carefully as far as it would go........as I brought it back down and a grocery bag full of lint came out...............I then got my leaf blower and blew out the lint I had loosened....Took about 40 min start to finish.....Now clothes are drying in record time....I can't get over it. What was taking 55 min's and still not bone dry, is now taking about 38 minutes (bone dry!).......Seriously, the hardest part of the entire job is pulling the dryer out and putting it back in, the rest is a piece of cake....Item is reusable over and over.

Thanks for the video link, I've already seen it. I have experience working on washing machines. I know well enough how the various designs function. Here's a video link for you of someone's demonstration of an HE-impeller machine. Set the playback speed to 2X (click the gear icon). It's a comparatively small load but seems there's an appreciable amount of mechanical action happening. Watch a given shirt for a while (yellow or red for example). HE Toploader Action But anyway, this is off-topic for the OP's Miele question.

My windows have copper sill pans that have lasted for 125 years. It was the standard until the 60's. It was the change from factory installed casing trim to nailing-fins with field applied casing trim that caused wide spread confusion. To limit their liability the manufacturers of the windows, the flashings, the weather barrier and the exterior claddings each published installation instructions with little or no coordination. This might have worked if any of them knew anything about exterior envelope waterproofing. I have always followed the advice of WR Grace which changed its mane to Grace Products and then to GCP Technologies. If you were unsure of a detail you could just call them and they would explain it to you. Many of their materials have been copied by others so the details don't depend on using their products anymore. When the head trim was factory installed, the cap flashing was placed over the top of the head trim. Today there are competing opinions about where flashing belongs on a nail-fin window. Some say flashing tape is adequate. Others say there should be a "Rigid Head Flashing" over the top nail-fin and a drip cap over the head trim. Others say to use one or the other but not both. I miss the old windows. Good luck.

are you sure you installed the firefox version and not the IE version? you have to do it for both browsers, check where it says other browser. also once installed go back and check to see if it says you do have the new version and that the flash animation is working.

I thought so.

When I just now returned to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/, it says "You have version 10,0,22,87 installed"

The red/white banner at the top of the page is very busy flashing the message "Adobe Flash Player successfully installed." (And yes, I'm now using Firefox.)

When I installed it, I chose this

Went to Tools, Options.

Then I added an exception for youtube.com in "Block popup windows"

Next, I restarted the computer. Videos now play.

Ha! I figured it had to be something easy. That is, easy once you know what "it" is. (sigh)
