Wow, that house has a beautiful presence on the property. And I love arches in homes. We were able to get a few in ours. I'm a little confused, you were buying property in CA but now are going to the south? Where in the south is your house?

Joan~ we own a home in CA already. This house in AL will be a 2nd home for us.

kelly~ I was wondering if I kept missing your photos. I do understand the "mess" thing. I'll look forward to your pictures. You know I still have our purchased plans for your house's "cousin", and someday...... *wink*

Allison~ You'll have to clue me in on great places to antique. I keep pinching myself that we are REALLY going to be in the south. We LOVE the south. And we've met our neighbors and they are genuinely amazing. That true "southern hospitality" and all that. So happy this all worked out! :o)

Chisue~ You are so funny. Everyone that looks at the house tells us that we should have named one of our daughter's "Scarlett". And our little neighbor girl already wants to come over and drink lemonade on our front porch...

Thanks for the sweet words everyone. And Charliedawg, you're right. We did indeed get a headstart on building our home. I'm not the greatest at visualizing a home from a flast sheet of paper (the blueprints or floorplan) so this almost feels like I get to cheat..... LOL!!

Thanks. :o) We'll probably be in AL a bit more than in CA. We're planning to escape our LOOOONG snowy winters! We plan to spend our summers in CA, and escape the HUMID summers in AL. LOL!

We're super excited... hopefully it will be the best of both worlds.
