Grandkids

I'm feeling nostalgic. As I posted last week, we're expecting 2 new grandbabies this fall (Sept. & Oct.). I've been going through pictures of our already here 4 grands. Gosh, they grow fast. I'm not really comfortable with posting pictures but I just wanted to share a couple of my favorites.

Here's my youngest grandson...life is a beach to Sam. He's always smiling and laughing. What would you expect from a baby born on April Fool's Day!?

This is Alice, my only granddaughter (so far!)...she loves to garden with Grammy.

This is Grandson #2, Ethan. He was 10.5 lbs. at birth. Alice has learned to get tough. It was either that or be run over by Ethan. He's really a bruiser!

Grandson #1, Eric (on the right). He's too cool to enjoy having his pix taken anymore. He's trying to get into the USCG. We're a little nervous about the decision but also think he's got a lot to offer. He's really interested in communications & is a computer guru.

I wonder what the next 2 will be like? Just 6 weeks apart in age. I'm anxious to find out boy...or girl?

Thanks for taking a look at the kids. They are young for too short a time, huh?

Well your kids seem to make beautiful babies,,,so you have something to look forward to!

Aren't Grandkids great?

If I had known they were going to be this much fun, I would have had them first and skipped the kids altogether! ;>)

If you like to bake, you can give them Cookie Coupons to use throughout the year. When my grands were that small, I made six coupons each, good for anytime during the year with a two day notice. They had their choice of their favorite five kinds of cookies, choc chip, sugar, peanut butter...whatever you decide to list. They had such a good time with this that they requested coupons for Christmas for three years afterwards. Benefits are many. They get to interact with Granma on a personal basis during the year. They get a gift that keeps giving - six times! Homemade are better (and better for them)since they are going to eat something similar anyway. Only one family lived far enough away that the cookies had to be mailed. Even that was fun since the child got real mail of her/his very own.

I think it used to be the case that to share a private Youtube video, the recipient also needed a Youtube account. That may no longer be true? I upload mine as "Unlisted" so they won't be listed on my channel or searchable but if need be I can still share a link or embed a video. For instance... * This video is "Private": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNYO7Bpi8ww * This video is "Unlisted": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=homX4_6yYw0 The private video you should not be able to view. The unlisted video you should. (Only because I gave the link)

Both my daughters and The Princess were there, of course: Bud was there too, but he mostly ate cookies and talked with Ashley's husband, Kevin. Madi and Maci were busily decorating cookies and deciding which would be best suited to leave for Santa. This one, a mitten with eyes? Maybe this one, a nicely restrained green wreath? I wish I had gotten a picture of the angel, with big eyes, white wings and a pink flowing robe, but I was busy placing Reese's peanut butter cups into the middle of gluten free peanut butter cookies, LOL. The Princess decorated some for her Dad, who doesn't like "all that stuff", he just wants frosting. Too bad for him, says the Princess, LOL The end result was a grand and glorious mess, filled with Cucidati, sugar cookies, sloppy joes and fudge, along with a few hand fulls of Chex Mix, some chocolate chip cookies, Grandma's Chewy Molasses cookies and a big tub of something we called "White Trash", my old boss Chrystal called "Christmas Crack" and the recipe called "White Chocolate Snack Mix", LOL. Sounds like a wonderful time! I know it's not ideal but perhaps someone can videotape or whatever they call it now the game of your other grandson. You could watch it together. :-). My sister spends most of her time at her young grandkids place. She feels very blessed too and the light in her eyes says it all.

I can't get enough of my grands and I can see you feel the same. They are beautiful!!

I one of Alice reminds me of my Lily. Finally she is growing and her jeans are small so our saying when she wears them is "NO BUTT CRACKS!".

Aw, Tricia, they are all gorgeous, and each with his or her own personality. Looks like Alice is smiling from both ends.

And two more on the way! I envy you. If my sons ever settle down and produce grandchildren, I will be too old to enjoy them.

I am sure your grandbabies are adorable, tho!

I only have one, it's hard to believe she'll be a year old in a couple of weeks! Yep....I can't get enough of her, too!

I can't see the pictures either, but I'm at work. I'll check them tonight when I get home.

Grandkids are great, I think they are God's reward to me for not killing my own children when they were teenagers, LOL.
