I've lost my address bar! And go button!

New IE user--was MSN but new ISP connection is regular IE.

Closest I have to an address bar is across very top of screen, all in blue. This one says (example): "http://ths.gardenweb.com - Computer Help Forum - GardenWeb - Microsoft Inter..."

Was always able to backspace to clear AB then type new search.

Now I've had to add the search icon to the taskbar to type in anything not already in Favorites. It opens a search section on the left of screen. I've tried numerous places to find a setting to add adddress bar up top where it belongs but no luck. Any idea whats up? TIA Sandy

If I understand you correctly..
right click on a blank area of the bar that has favourites
or the bar that says File/Edit/View etc...put a check mark next to Address Bar in the drop down menu.

Yes you understand me perfectly. Tried that before and just did it again. Check mark goes on and off but it doesn't seem to affect anything. Wonder why its there. Must be a setting goofed up somewhere. Thanks though, it made sense. Sandy

hi chocolatebunny... i've been thinking of you, too! i wouldn't give up just yet. your sq footage is 8 ft, but what are the dimensions of your island? would a vanity size fit that? i am sure SOMEONE can fabricate a vanity equivalent for you, even from a remnant. i found my fabricator totally by accident. i was googling something about cambria, and i found a forum he was posting on. he doesn't even list zodiaq on his website; i emailed and asked. so you never know. btw... the Dupont website "dealer locator" was a waste of time! the best/nearest fabricator listed doesn't even sell zodiaq, only corian. he's talked to them, but DuPont doesn't bother to fix their listing. so you'll have to keep hunting. quartz (composite) is expensive, but i found nothing equivalent i wanted. so i feel very fortunate this worked out. but you never really know until the stuff is actually installed... then you can breathe! i really wish you good luck. keep us posted. :)

At this point I would keep the 'repairs' as simple as possible. Often, using too many things to hide one (OK, more than one) error can end up making things even worse. First, do what you planned and paint the room the color of the grout. Once you get the wall painted the grout will be less noticeable. Hang the curtain and finish the bathroom. To hide the edge even more, you could hang two shower curtains and have tie-backs on each side. If the deep grout line on the edges still bother you after that, take a dremel tool and and cut it so that you have a straight edge to put wood trim up against........then install a piece of wood molding. CJ "In my world, function trumps form in most things" that helps narrow down your choices & get you focused I personally like a pull vs bin for drawers as I find they are easier to use - eyes closed I'm going to hit it, where a bin pull requires more accuracy - if that makes sense. The best recommendation I can make is to get samples of several varieties that draw you in - Do a mock up & then decide. Sounds like you may need to uncheck the lock tool bar and then look for a vertical drag bar to drag open the address bar.

sounds like mikie might have the right idea.

there should be seperator bar you can click and drag on your toolbar are after you unock it.

Toolbar wasn't locked. Whats a vertical drag bar? And how would I drag open the address bar if I don't have or see one? Sorry, I'm obviously very inexperienced and confused.

I do remember moving a "separator" to inactive because I couldn't see it or know what it did. So I've put it back but still dont see anything there. (By the way, because I didn't see it I added it again and the word separator went in again.But still don't see anything.) Please don't laugh. I'm really trying.Thanks, Sandy

OMG! I found a little (almost looked greyed out) link up there that said address. So I clicked and dragged and it pulled the toolbar right out of nowhere! And the go button is there too. Never would have thought to do that. Thank you. Thank you. Sandy
