just leave it in quarantine is fine, should you ever find you sent something to quarantine that was a false positive and a needed file you can retrieve it, if you remove or delete then you can not easily retrieve it.

If you find an infection with AVG you should also run full scan with malwarebytes and also one of the online scans to make sure everything was found.

I'd be interested to know the name of the Trojan. If you recall.

Last night on my machine with Windows XP, that I don't use that much, myy AVG picked up "Trojan Downloader Agent2.XDF". I don't understand... in the virus vault it shows up twice now with 2 different "Path to Files"....C:/Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\Unload\HPqPHUnl.exe and C:\System/Volume Information\_restore(8CAD4433-DD3C-4E57-9E68-C9D0ECFAC1E. Then last night when I looked in "Resident Shield Component it kept finding them...changed the setting to "remove all threats automatically". I ran Malwarebytes and it didn't find anything, then I ran SuperAnti-Spywares, cause that is what I have installed on that computer. It didn't find anything buy 81 adware cookies with I "fixed". Is the SuperAnti-Spywares not any good? Should I change to Spywareblaster? What do I do about the trojans? I did a search and couldn't find anything on that particular trojan. It also didn't show up in the AVG dictionary? I also ran scans on this machine and it is fine.

I'm running another AVG scan right now. I also found under the "Resident Shield Detection" page it lists the trojan 4 times. Under the heading object it gives that
C:\System/Volume Information\_restore(8CAD4433-DD3C-4E57-9E68-C9D0ECFAC1E. Under the heading "result" the first one it show where I moved it to the virus vault...which I can't remember how I did that but the others show result as "Infected"....should they be in the virus vault? and how do I get them there?

System Volume Information----That's a system restore file cannot hurt you.

As long as the computer is running ok and stable, I would clear out all restore points. It's a simple matter of turning System Restore off and then on.

Google "Clear System Restore" xp, vista, or whatever.

you want to keep malwarebytes and use it weekly, you can also use superantispyware it is a good program, you do want spywareblaster but it is NOT used as a scanner, it works in the background to help protect you from malicious websites so do not get these confused. With spywareblaster you just update it weekly then hit the button that says enable all protection which will make the shield green and you are done, everyone should have it on their pc along with the other security programs mentioned. all have free versions
