How do you get this image affect in photoshop?

http://z.about.com/d/healing/1/0/5/R/WinterGarden.jpg

I have a few photographs I would love to upload on to a website I work on and can't find in photoshop how to get the edges of my photos feathered (for lack of a better word) like this photo.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It looks very uneven (see left side). As tho a small brush loaded with white paint was dragged along. I think the link above makes an excellent softened edge.

MetroMom- FYI: There is a post on the remodel forum from someone who bought a home with a painted brick exterior. I remebered reading it so I searched and found it! You may want to read his post before you proceed. I know you mentioned something about a concern re: possible transfer in future. http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/remodel/msg021538463187.html?9 Hope this helps! I really loved the Ken Mason color better with the counter but this color def. works great with the counter and the cement tile "rug" I have as well. I also have an old door from India that was made into a cabinet that works with this color on the other side of kitchen so it comes together nicely.

What version were you running before? Is it that your new operating system won’t run the older version? If you have the original serial number, you used to be able to get a discount for an upgrade via buying it entirely new. Adobe might be able to help if you reach out to them directly. Also, look under their photography plans, they have one that has PS with Lightroom for only $10per month vs PS by itself for $20. It’s a marketing ploy for them to get people to use more Adobe products. Like how the Creative Suite Cloud is cheaper than buying all the programs individually.

Petalique's link makes the claim that high heels never caused foot problems. Tell that to foot surgeons trying (mostly unsuccessfully) to repair the feet of women with huge bunions and other deformaties, caused by years of supporting the body entirely on the balls of the feet. This isn't only due to compressing the toes into points, but to forcing the weight forward. Females have been hobbled for centuries. Witness 'foot binding', a deliberate deformation, supposedly for another reason, but that conveniently leaves a girl/woman dependent, unable to walk any distance -- much less escape.

Thank you for your replies. I like the uneven look as though a paint brush dipped in white was drug across the photo. That is the look I'm trying to obtain.

I did use the method you mentioned zep for my photo because that was the only one I could figure out.

Does anyone know how to obtain the look of that specific photo's edge?

Thank you.

I use Paint Shop Pro and that affect is achieved using a mask. Photoshop does the same....

Looks a lot like what I can do in an old Microsoft photo editing program that they don't make anymore.

It is an Art Stroke "edge" in that program.

TJ's pic:

Mine: - not the exact same "edge" - but there are a bunch of them in that program
