air tubs review
Comments (5)We have the Zuma CD7236 - similar specs to the Racheal. Ours is plenty big for 2 with an inside width of 30 inches. We have the HS Rosemarie in the kids bath - it is a very pretty tub and nice interior size for a 32 x 60. After living with 60's era shallow tubs I wanted only tubs big enough for any adult to have a nice soak! It is not an air tub so I can't speak to that. We narrowed between the Bain Ultra and Zuma - had problems with the controls of the BA at a hotel and chose the Zuma - my sister has had one for years and loves it. I realize that did not really answer your question - but perhaps something in the post is useful ;-)...See MoreMicrosilk vs. Air Tub (Jason) OR Bain Ultra
Comments (114)Just a quick update. I spent days reading material on air tubs and whirlpools and got my decision down to a 36 x 72" Jason and Purebath. To get an outside opinion, I called an online bath dealer in the Richmond, VA area where I used to live (Whirlpooltubs.com, Steve) and after discussing a lot of models, which he sells as well, he steered me to Mansfield, an UN-fancy company that offered a ton of features and everything I was looking for, at a nice price. I ended up with the Baywood 6 Ariance GentleTouch (air bath version) which has back jets with heated neck/back rest, heated silent air (all offer this), included neck pillow, chromatherapy. This combined the features I thought my husband might benefit from (back jets) with the surround air jets, in a quiet system, as we will put the motor on the other side of the wall with insulation. Mansfield offers the Ariance in 3 models: HealthTouch (whirlpool), GentleTouch (air bath) and DualTherapy. I would love to tell you what I think about this bathtub, but we are still building our home and are months' out yet. This dealer was on the ball and very helpful....See Moreany problems with air tub in shower/tub combo?
Comments (3)Do you have a specific tub in mind? We have a Bain ultra air tub and I couldn't imagine showering in it every day. The acrylic bottom along with the added height of the side.... to me it seems like an accident waiting to happen. I guess it would depend on the height of the tub you had in mind. In regards to the automatic air purge, it only happens after the air cycles off. You wouldn't be turning the motor on when you shower so the automatic thing wouldn't happen....See Morehydro systems whirlpool tubs
Comments (3)I have a Hydro Systems Lacey, but just in standard soaker rather than whirlpool. So, unfortunately, I cannot comment on the whirlpool feature. I can however tell you that the tub is comfortable and large. I was very pleased with the construction and my plumber commented on the high quality of the tub. Sorry I do not yet have any pictures of the bathroom to share....See Morebnevens
