Windows XP SP3...HP computer...

I'm getting the following message in Facebook:

I am making a guess that you are using Internet Explorer...yes or no? Have you tried another browser? If no, I suggest you try Firefox (or Opera..or Google Chrome)...and let us know if you still have a problem accessing the site.

Notice the announcement at the top of each Discussions or Conversations page, in red. GW tells what's going on and how to get around it until the problem is solved. YesScript is still working for me.

Keyboard shortcuts for playback control are specific to the video player, not to the video/content datafile. Content viewed via Java, JavaScript and other such players embedded/programmed into web pages, I expect whether or not there keyboard shortcut controls depends on the whims of the programmer and it's all very non-standard.

Added comment: My firm does large scale, high level IT and other types of consulting, among other things, and is UBER security conscious because of very sensitive client information we have. I had occasion a few minutes ago to connect to its intranet, and the information I wanted was sitting behind QUADRUPLE verification. (Name and password, followed by 3 security questions, followed by a different name and password, followed by an access code sent by email or text to a pre-verified address/number). Most of it is only double. I checked to find clear instructions and found that recent Microsoft and Apple Browsers are always supported, some versions of Firefox can have incompatibilities, and nothing else is supported. Any attempted log on with other browsers (like with Chrome) gets bounced. This is unchanged, it's been this way for years. Other than, originally, Apple wasn't supported at all until about 8 years ago and FIrefox was allowed at about the same time. That's why I questioned Jane's comment.

Things seem to be much, much better with Google Chrome...I knew I should have done this a long time ago (people here kept telling me :o) but I just kept putting it off...

This is probably one of those "you're not going to believe it" replies. I used to run IE8beta with XP3. Now IE7 with XP3. I'm sort of a news junkie and a fan of CNN. I "use to" have their site as my home page.

A couple of years back I began getting stack overflow "0" popups. I worked rather diligently trying to resolve the problem. After a month or so of constantly having to delete the irritant it stopped. The time coincided with when I switched my home page to AOL, Google,(can't remember why) or other.

Even today when I mistakingly access a CNN hyperlinks it bring with it a stack overflow "0" popup! It never happens anywhere else. Yes, it is difficult to believe. I ran a CNN desktop search back then and even more recently. Nothing. I sent CNN an e-mail. No response. Now I just rely on the TV for my CNN news. Regards, Gene
