Probably, the most salient point here is the closer you look, the less you know. Time and the personal, individual choices of hybridizers will sort all of this out. They will register where they feel most comfortable doing so. Obviously, both organizations are complying with even the minimum standards. The community, with its vast and not necessarily public exchange of information is alive, discussing this issue and formulating an opinion. There is much there that is not visible in this thread. In fact, I have had to curtail my nursery work to catch up on my letter writing, because this very issue and the postings in this thread have filled my mailbox to overflowing. Most of the letters center around something not discussed here...motivation. What is the nature and origin of the energy driving these issues? The individuals who have contacted me have gone beyond the semantics and legalities. Their concerns lie more in the examining of what is happening in the delicate heart spaces where ideas and actions are born, come to fruition or crash and burn. The internet and the postings visible are marvelous things. They have a handful of active participants, but an audience of millions. It is no less so here on this thread. That my mailbox fairly groans with letters is further proof. I can assure you, that the confidence I place in the generosity, intelligence and far-sightedness of the Brugmansia community is well-founded. It is reflected in the correspondence I've received, and cause for joy among the honest hearted. Ultimately, those individuals are choosing where they wish to place their confidence regarding the responsible handling of their information... So, be of good cheer everyone. We have a strong and honest-hearted community of highly intelligent people who talk among themselves in the shadows and make the decisions that move the fates and fortunes of those populating the community: it's organizations, enterprises and accomplishments as a whole. My faith in them, as it pertains to making constructive choices that impact themselves and their fellow members toward the good...has never waivered. In time you will see the result of those choices. AVAST has always done that it tells you in the install directions that you will need to click the register button and it will email you the code number which you just enter into your AVAST program super easy, it last about a year then you just do it again and get a number and it is good for another year. Never had it ask me to buy anything or email me anything other than my code. Free registration see right on the front page where you down load it are the directions and how to do it. Plus on the left side there are the 2 pdf files I suggest everyone read or print to have handy, it gives all the info on how to set up AVAST and how to use features including the screensaver scan feature.

I have not used it in a long time but there are ways to post links to the pictures that do not require registration. I did not like that either, it is not always easy to figure out how to use them and of course they would prefer that you do register so they make it easier to do it that way. The adjustability in length is a major consideration, since my furniture is all different sizes, as is its staying in place. Plus, only one piece is skirted so you'd be able to see the extender underneath, so I'd really prefer to use something that looked like it was created for that purpose rather than something looking hacked-together (since enough of this house is halfa$$ed as it is, makes me want to scream and punch the PO). Since I'd have to go out and buy a tray for each vent anyway, or pay to have them shipped, I wouldn't really save that much money once I bought long-enough clear trays that were sturdy and looked halfway decent. At ~$2.79 a gallon for the Biofuel heating oil, it would not take me very many gallons to pay back the cost of vent extenders if I can lower the thermostat now that the furniture's not absorbing all the heat! Helene - so did I (around $12 shipped was about the best I could manage), that site was just most convenient one in my history list at the time. ;-)
