Yes it is Teamviewer. It works great, I use it in conjunction with Skype so I can tell the person I am helping what I am doing so they have no fear of me messing up their computer. I fix software issues using it and it even has the capability of allowing me to reboot the remote computer and still be in control.
In the case of teaching my brother in law it allowed me to watch his mouse moves as he did the various tasks, without it I would have no way on knowing where he was clicking.
The person being helped is safe in as much as it requires them to first give me a 9 digit code then a further 4 digit password. Working with the same person the 9 digit code gets repeated but the passowrd does not, offering them security.
