The dreaded red 'X' & the white kitten

I was playing around & still searching for the animated white kitten last night and saw a clue which I had forgotten. On another forum, someone was complaining of the red 'X' instead of a pic and said "someone had a kitten that removes the red 'X' & I wish you'd send him to me...."

Then I remembered the kitten reaches up and pulls the red 'X' down out of the picture. That's what made it so appealing to me - does that ring a bell? Owbist? Raven? Anyone else?

oh ok then that is a different one than the one I was thinking of, I don't think I have seen one with the kitten grabbing the red x but there are several around that do that, one has a little gun and shoots the red x. But that is a good clue, I feel like I am on a scavenger hunt LOL

on one of my other forums we play a scavenger hunt game maybe I need to put this in as our quest LOL.

Not hard at all to give them up. My job is to handle them until they become social. Remember, they are all wild. Once they begin to purr it's time to find a forever home. The little orange guy purred for the first time today. The black one is still angry at the world LOL. When they are all adopted the foundation gives me another litter.

Now I know it's quite premature to post these pictures, as my project is a long way from finished. However, I'm excited about my progress and I'm thinking that a group of gardens will be able to see the "potential" here. LOL! While you guys have been playing this week, I started work on installing a sidewalk between the end of the house and the new garage. The space is only about 8 ft. wide so my vision is to install this 4' wide walk and then (maybe next year) plant the sides with small hosta and similar sized plants. The walk in the picture is about 15' long. When finished, it there will be about 10' more walk at the 4' width and then it will widen into a "patio" of sorts for another 10-12'. We had a horrid rain yesterday that washed out some of my edge pavers before I got soil packed in around them but that's okay. It won't take long to get back on track. And, here is a picture of the gate I built last year with a plan to install it across the sidewalk, between the house and garage. One year soon, I'll be caught up with those of you who have nearly perfected your gardens. For now, I'm still installing structural elements.

Bad news, my kitten has FIP

I just lost my precious baby boy, Romeow, to FIP this morning. I had only had him for two weeks and he was only "normal" for about two days. Then the loss of appetite started, weight loss, lethargy. We took him to the vet (twice) where they gave us meds for hookworms and antibiotics for fever but he just became more and more lethargic and sad. I had to feed him with a syringe and give him the high-vitamin cat gel. Anyway, he just seemed worse and worse so I took him to the emergency vet this morning and his little tummy was so swollen, his third eyelids had been showing for the last few days and his gums were white. They drew fluid from his abdomen and they said it was likely that he had FIP. I had him put down because I didn't want him to suffer. I've been crying non-stop since then, and I also have five kids who are heart-broken. I AM SO ANGRY AT THE BREEDER. She eluded that something could be wrong with him (AFTER WE PURCHASED HIM). She wanted us to put him to sleep without even trying to figure out what was going on with him! I'm so sad I can't even think straight right now. Even in two short weeks he was such a wonderful little guy. I miss him so much.

I honestly do not know why you are worried about your dish drainer. It looks fine on your countertop, especially since your appliances are white. In fact, it looks like a lovely kitchen that is USED by actual people. Since when are we not allowed to live in our houses? The dishes in the top rack of my dishwasher are never dry, especially the plastic cups/sippy cups that are necessary with small children. I run the DW (almost) every night, transfer the wet items to the drainer in the morning, and put away the dry items when I return from work each day. When we have a party, I tuck my drainer under the sink. (But a nearby closet would work just as well.) If you decide to use a towel instead, remember to angle your pots/glasses/bowls to allow air to circulate to the inside. Otherwise, your pan will be dry on the outside and wet on the inside. (Sometimes I'll lay a wooden spoon under the first pan to lift it off the counter then lean all the other pans against it.) I use towels for overflow items, but the draining rack dries dishes faster.

YOU DID IT! THAT'S IT! I love it ~ it just makes me laugh. Who doesn't hate the red X?

Now, how do I get it (for my very own) and can it be made a little larger?

Raven - I want to check out those funny pics too. You all are so good, as in good = helpful and good = expert!

just right click on the picture there in Marooma's post and select save image as and save it to your computer then it is yours. you can have it made larger at the avatar forum I mentioned before, or you could try to do it yourself using a resize program.

Does that white kitten really do something to remove red x's? It's just a cute little animation, isn't it?

By the way, for the cat lovers out there, are you familiar with Felix, who comes with a bunch of toys and other things and prances around on your desktop? It was put out by Friskies. Someone I know said that the people in her office enjoyed and watched it so much that the boss finally told them to remove it from their machines. I myself only turn it on once in a while, lol.

The cat usually stays on the desktop, but if you have a small window open, he will prance back and forth on that.

What he does seems to have been changed quite a bit--so I just downloaded the newest version.

no the red x is actually part of the picture that is the the animation of the cat pawing the red x it does not really remove red x's

Raven - when I saved it that way I only get the photo, not the video or animated avatar - how do I do that?

That's a .gif image with 43 frames. I opened it in Photoshop Elements which separates the frames into different layers. Seems to me you would have to enlarge each frame separately but there may be a way to enlarge them all at once - I've never worked with them.
sanantoniorose you probably get it all. Locate it on your computer and double click on it.

I've had Felix since my very first Windows 98 computer. I seldom pull him out, but I do enjoy his antics.

I did notice that Felix uses quite a bit of ram when he is running. I do have a real cat named Felix too!

Thank you Jean - Can you please tell me how to save it and keep it this time? I use Picasa and I'm still not sure how to copy and USE it. Could you please help, I'm just not getting it (feel double dumb right now).

I'm not going to ask how you did that if I can't even download it correctly............

It was deliberately created small as the forum it was used on as an avatar had a limit of - I think - 50 pixels square. Enlarging as you see in Jean's post creates a poor quality.

Rose, I don't believe Picasa supports animation. Just right click on the image and 'save as'. Upload it to whatever site you use and try posting it here. You can also save it, right click, open with Internet Explorer to see if it animates for you.

I have Felix sleeping in his tent on my desktop. I used to have a desk top Santa and may still have it on my external hard drive. He did all kinds of things, I believe he even sits on the stool or a pot, not sure anymore.

I save my images online to imageshack and they definitely support animation. So you can right click on the picture and choose save as to your pc, then go to imageshack and select the upload from pc option, browse to that image file on your pc where ever you put it and select it to upload. It will then upload it to imageshack and will give you all the codes you need to use in forums such as this one, with this forum you would select the code with html which is called sites code on imageshack.

Photobucket also supports animation.
