The IT company I work for, we use a lot of those you mentioned but our new favorite addition has to be Malwarebytes. We are HUGE fans of that program. It seems to be getting rid of a lot of the new viruses we have come across such as those new windows xp and vista "virus scanner" 2008 or 2009 ones. Most of those seem to be coming from the UPS and FedEx mails you guys may have heard of. Anyway to be honest I would start with Malwarebytes then Id move to using AVG 8. If AVG comes up clean you may not need to move further but if youd like to or need to then look at Hijackthis. Once you run Hijack this and it generates the log file for you, copy ALL the text in the log and goto www.hijackthis.de and paste it into the box at the bottom of the page. Then based on those results check certain boxes in the hijackthis program to "fix" them.

Neither I nor anyone else suggested that, Glenda. In fact, I was careful to say I didn't want to criticize. With that in mind, Suzieque's post was well said. I don't recall seeing the "Pet Peeves" thread, but I'll hazard a guess that some of the things that annoy some people are not a source of annoyance to others. And, as Suzieque said, most annoyances are not big things. But of course that doesn't stop them from being annoying . . . to some. I guarantee that those of us who do find those teaser subject lines annoying (just annoying, mind you--we're not tearing out our hair or spiking our blood pressure or making demands) have plenty of small stuff that we don't sweat. And I'm pretty certain that those who claim to have learned not to react to little things have something (some small thing) they find irritating as hell.

Lazygardens - DH is now rolling his eyes because, in true gemini fashion, I've gone back and forth on this whole issue a million times. We had pretty much decided to do a white railing, then I read bronwynsmom's color lesson about white breaking up the view. I guess that I just need to decide which is more important, the view from the deck or the feeling of the deck being a little private room off the house/patio. I am OK with the look of a white railing when I am entering the garden from the path (off the driveway.) That said, the natural colors of a wood-tone railing would tie in the natural elements, not to mention the trim on the barn (which is what we see when sitting at the deck cafe table.) I guess the question is what do I think is more important - looking out or looking in. Thanks again for your input.

Nope, I do not open my wife's mail unless instructed to do so, Once in awhile, we do open each other car isurance notices if the wrong name is on top of the address list. We both own cars and have the ownerships registered in both our names as HIS or HERS (Not "and"). This way, in case something happens to either of us, the other spouse can take ownership without a fuss and sell the car if need be without probating through the court. On occassion, the insurance company gets the wrong name at the top of the address. Its no big deal - We merely hand over the piece as soon as the mistake is discovered. I tell her that if she opens one of my bills, its ok to pay it - hasn't happened yet, her paying it, that is.
