Well, the recession is still going strong, so the recession gardens should be, too. Have you checked out the rise in food prices? Given the facts as you presented them, the hive will die unless YOU introduce a new queen. A laying worker will not mate with a drone - she will only lay drone eggs. Two things have to happen in order for the hive to requeen itself. First, there has to be the general "recognition" (by the bees) the colony is without a queen and secondly, there has to be a female (fertilized) egg or larvae of the proper age to feed royal jelly to in order to develop a queen. -- Given the strength (population) of the colony at this time of year, it is possible your queen has just not begun to lay yet. There would be doubt in my mind if your hive is really queenless.

A forest will choke out a thicket, I often recomend that fruit and nut trees be planted on purpose, so that we lock up carbon and produce food for ourselves, and chocke out the brush plants that are unpleasent to walk through. When you go on a hike along a tail it seems that you are always either bordered by clearing/lawn or by a thicket, but once you break through that thicket you can useually travle quite quickly and easily and have plenty of space to move about. The main reasonfor removing trees and brush historicly wasn't to make things more pleasent, it was to open up land for agricultural use. with a field we can grow staple cerial grains, or legumes, or use it as pasture for animals, while some trees may provide seasonal food for some critters it takes alot of work to survive off of them year round (and trust me when I say thing, willow does not taste that good) . Our modenr day lawns were not contrived from thin air, you need to look at were they came from to understand how they fit in. Lawns are popular mainly in the south (sure, lots of people like them, but in the south they are sick for them) the south had a large portion of its caucasian inhabitants come from scotland (the southern drawl is very closely related to the scots accent) in schotland they have huge green field that are kept down to a few inches all summer long, this is because there is alot of rain and people raise sheep. Now, in the south there isn't as much water in the summer, and there aren't as many sheep, but people still liked the look of home so a lawn with mowers and irrigation is what they came up with.

Ok I downloaded the malwarebytes and ran a full scan; went to bed because it was taking so long. Got up today and saw it had completed the scan and it found 4 items. So I clicked to remove them and it said to restart the computer. Before I did, I copied what the notepad said. Then restarted the computer. Unfortunately, when I restarted the computer, I was unable to get an internet connection so I got worried that I deleted an important program and clicked restore on the malbyte menu. Then when that didnt work, I called for tech support and spent the last hour & a half on the phone with technical support both with Microsoft and ATT Tech Support. Nothing was working. To make a long story short, the end result - I disconnected the modum, turned off the computer completely.....let it sit for about 3 mins and then plugged the modum back in; waited for all the lights to come on steady and then I restarted the computer. Everything seems to be working now, I can access the internet (obviously, since I'm posting here) and I went back to the malwarebytes program and copied what the note pad said. Not sure if this is different from what it said after the initial scan, before I clicked on "restore deleted items".
