the trial version is usually not the regular full version of Microsoft office it is usually the Home and Student version as in the link I will give you below. Since they are different versions I would say you should do a full install with your disc of your MS office 7. the version that comes as a trial can be very difficulty to remove, using REVO uninstaller (free) will help to remove it fully. You may want to google this remove microsoft office home and student 2007 trial. You will then see some of the problems with it. Here is a link to REVO.

If by some off chance your pc did come with the full version of MS office 7 I think I would still do the uninstall and reinstall the full version from your disc so you know exactly what you have and do not risk running into a problem with using your existing key code.

I would definitely do the removal prior to the install as to order.

Revo Uninstaller did NOT get rid of my Trial MSOffice 7. I tried twice and it still remains on the PC. Additionally, using the lengthy uninstall directions from the MS website is very cumbersome and difficult so I didn't even go there.

Can't stand it! Windows #7 and we're still saddled with this nonsense? I thought #7 was finally putting this behind. Sorry to learn otherwise.

I have Office 07 on this computer but it did not come with One Note. I downloaded a trial version of One Note, didn't like it and could never get rid of it. It still shows up and tries to open certain documents. Somehow, its embedded in my Office suite.

I have tried every which way to get rid of it, and gave up. Two years of this nonsense. No wonder Apple stock is through-the-roof!

Just a question, though I too prefer to use REVO did you try to use the Windows uninstaller via the Control Panel's Add/Remove utility? A follow-up system check with CCleaner's registry utility would be recommended also.

I ask this as when I wanted to remove my trial version of Office from this Vista system, prior to the acceptance of REVO as a quality uninstaller, that's all I had to do. Admittedly it was perhaps a dozen independent entries on the Add/Remove report, but they all came off freely and completely.

My daughter told me to forget the Revo and to just put the disk in. When I did that on my old XP it asked if it should replace the MS office 2003 and I told it yes. Worked perfect. When I used the disk in my new Windows 7 it didn't ask to replace trial 2007 it just said Install or Install with options. I clicked Install...everything seems to be working pretty good. When I go to add or remove programs, both machines show the new Office 2007 from the date I used the disk. Older office versions and trials are gone.

well that is interesting, you mean the trial version no longer even shows up in add remove programs at all? do you see it in your programs list or anywhere?
I wonder if it is really gone of if it is just now hidden since you have a paid for active version on the pc now.

One Note trial does not show. You need to uninstall the whole Office suite to get rid of it. Furthermore, Windows keeps sending updates for it along with their usual one. Of course I uncheck and don't allow them to download.
