help with prep work to tile shower

Hi all,

I have been reading numerous threads about the proper prep work to tile a shower. Frankly, for someone like me who cannot DIY it is important that I choose products that I know will be correct since I won't be able to watch the contractor every minute of the day.

From what I gather, for the shower walls,

- cement board
- Kerdi/Red guard
- Tile with epoxy grout
- then seal

Do I have the above correct? Am I missing anything? I think the Kerdi-Board is available at homedepot.ca

For the floors, I would prefer to use pre-sloped pans as I would be clueless if the contract did it incorrectly. Some of the pans recommended on the forum are Laticrete or Wedi. I can't seem to find these at Home Depot in Canada..... or perhaps I don't know what I am looking for. Would someone be able to help with identifying an equivalent for these in Canada? Thank you.
