Can I delete Dcleaner ?

This program called DCleaner showed up on my screen. Since it did not seem to bother anything else, I just left it alone. Now I am getting a pop up labeled --Sandbox, but advised not to use it by AVAST as it could be dangerous.

Can I delete DCleaner?

Computer is XP.

I don't know how it got on your pc if you did not put it there, it is a program much like ccleaner it cleans out your temp files and cookies, history stuff like that, here is info about it
DCleaner 1.08.211

if you did not put it there and do not want it you can certainly go to add remove programs and remove it.

Did you notice the last update for DCleaner is June 1, 2006?

Also, the website does not supply any identity information.

Interesting.

I would recommend deleting.

I have deleted Recent Places with no issues, but I would hesitate before deleting the others. They show up because they are system folders or a part of the Windows 7 file structure. I just thought about something, if these are icons on your desktop, then absolutely delete them if you don't want them there. Those would just be shortcuts or easy ways to find items in those folders and merely 'pointers' to the actual folders. Pam

have you checked in your recycle bin or in your email client deleted folder? it is usually there for a while before being removed. Since you did not mention if the folder you created was an email folder on your email client or if it was a folder somewhere on your pc you will have to use which ever location applies. if it was on your pc you can also go to start> search and type in the name of the folder or files and do a search for it. In your email client there should be a search option you can put in the persons email address and search for any emails received from that person they may still show up.

Thanks! I did check it out and with the warnings about Sandbox, I deleted it.

yes it would not be one I would keep but I did not know of anything malware related to it and there was no bad ratings on the site.
Deleting it would have been my choice too so sounds like you took care of it.
