I Deleted a Folder in Windows Mail..Can I Get It Back

A few weeks ago I was doing something for a friend that involved her emailing/forwarding pictures and emails to me. I made a folded with her name and just moved everything I needed to save to it. Well...I thought I was finished with it and deleted that folder and contents this morning. Low and behold, I need it back (isn't that always the way it goes?).

Is there any way to get that folder back? how?

have you checked in your recycle bin or in your email client deleted folder? it is usually there for a while before being removed. Since you did not mention if the folder you created was an email folder on your email client or if it was a folder somewhere on your pc you will have to use which ever location applies. if it was on your pc you can also go to start> search and type in the name of the folder or files and do a search for it.

In your email client there should be a search option you can put in the persons email address and search for any emails received from that person they may still show up.

You can make a copy of your iTunes folder for a backup. That is a good idea anyway - if your computer crashed - anything on iTunes would be lost (it would still be on your iPod and you can restore from that). iTunes will not issue you any new copies of things you have downloaded.

Try a full scan next time you did a quick scan: Here are the instructions so everything is in one place. Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop. I haven't used big fish in a while but from them you might not be able to delete the downloaded file as their app thingy you have to install on the PC might need it to get at the game when you want to play. Sorry it's been so long since I belonged to that site I forget but that might be the case. Best thing to do is contact big fish about it. Acutally I would use their online forums and ask other users. This was a folder I set up in/under my Email folders..and named it "J". I moved all emails/pictures from her to that folder. I've checked the Recycle Bin and the Deleted folder in my email. It's not in either place.

I'm not sure what my "email client" is? (not real computer smart..lol)

"email client" That's just the name of the e mail you use, like yahoo, outlook, thunderbird, ect..

well having that info would help like what is your email client that you are using?? yahoo? outlook? maybe knowing which one then someone that uses that one can give more specific info.

did you try recuva?

I guess it's "Windows Mail". It's whatever came with my Dell Laptop w/vista.

No...I haven't tried Recuva yet.

Brenda, When something is deleted from Windows mail, and your deleted folder is emptied it does not go to recycle bin, and basically it is gone forever. There is some expensive software, that might get it back. To my knowledge, Recuva, does not recover a deleted email folder, just files that are other places on your computer. Good Luck to you. Cat

Cat..the was a sub folder I made. I've looked and it didn't go into the deleted folder...which hasn't been emptied.

I read about the Recuva and thought the same thing.

I did the same thing a yr or so ago. Meant to delete one, but deleted the wrong one. Lost the one with some pictures in it, I wanted to keep.
