IE 7 crashes

I have IE 7 installed in a Dell XPS System. The default webpage that I use is WWW.USATODAY.COM. Every now and then but at least once a week, I start IE7 and while it loads the USAToday main page, it crashes with no warnings or info. Zero. Zip. Nada. Just no warnings of any type. The screen that was being formatted disappears and I am staring at the desktop again.

I have checked a few things that Microsoft suggested on their website but nothing has corrected this problem. I deleted IE7, which threw me back into IE6. Then I re-upgraded back to IE7 and the problem did not go away. It keeps doing it randomly. Very irritating. Very frustrating.

I think, but I am not 100% sure, that the problem has happened when loading webpages off other websites too (like GardenWeb). I also am not sure if this happens when the webpage tries to load a pop up window...

It is always unexpected and sudden... It is also very aggravating that I cannot get a stable bug-free IE 7 platform. I never experienced this until I went from IE 6 to 7 a long time ago.

Am I the only only with this problem? I am running XP Pro Version 5.1.2600 SP2 Build 2600 and IE 7 Version 7.0.5730.12.

TIA, Luis
