Thankfully, DSS Agent/Broderbund is not on PM 16, so that's not an issue for me. Randy, I searched the software in regedit. All my software was listed, but there was nothing for Printmaster or Broderbund. Mikie, I searched for Application Data\Printmaster folders and found a few in Word that I downloaded from Broderbund with some technical notes I wanted to keep. Would I need to delete these? Soooooo, I need to proceed with backing up my registry before tiptoeing into RegSeeker. I'm proceeding cautiously. These are new waters for me! :) I googled for info on backing up the registry and feel somewhat overwhelmed. I don't know if Microsoft is saying the same thing in two sets of directions or giving me two different procedures... I might read the uninstall instructions and use their Uninstall Tool from the link below. If that by chance should not work, I would reinstall the same norton version and then uninstall it from its start menu folder uninstall program & follow up with the uninstall tool to clean up some of what it leaves behind. Here is a link that might be useful: google" In Normal mode, it can't connect to Internet, therefore it can't go to "Google" I have Windows Internet Explorer. When I click on it, the Explorer screen comes up and says "connecting", after a while it fails to connect and goes away. ravencajun, I will give that a try. fwiw I just did an xp upgrade re-install on my laptop, Tried IE7pro, and it screwed things up. Didnt backup or save a single thing before the reinstall, couldnt!. I tried a repair install & It broke windows completely. No choice but reinstall xp. Didnt format with the reinstall. Everything file/folder wise is still intact after a xpsp2- upgrade install. XP upgrade install ! It left all existing files/folders/paths/users under C:\Documents and Settings , more or less duplicated them with new name.extension ... left untouched the whole C drive - with the exception; It erased and reloaded the windows folder. So some programs need reinstalled to rebuild registry keys, and new registrations, some dont need a thing. All data that existed before, still exists, unless it was in the windows folder. Everything is accessable thought the original user profiles ,, old folders. Couple of clean up deletes from the install and windows folder is now 1.7Gb. There must have been a lot of junk accumulated in that windows folder. Because I more total free space than I've had in a long time.
