Hi Tru, Unless you see rust and/or corrosion on the metal parts in the white plug, or a wire has come off of the back of it, my guess is the problem is at the other end of the light wire. Many of those lights use a self piercing (vampire) tap that just clamps on to the wire and has two sharp points that pierce the insulation of the main wire and allow electricity to flow to the light bulb. It is an easy to install system, but often not very reliable long term. The good news is if you can find the clamp, you can fix it. Usually, a wire comes down from a big transformer, (often black plastic box on a wall) and just goes around near the lights locations. The wires attached to the lights normally will go straight to the main wire, from where ever they come out of the pond or little light post. They are not buried very deep, normally just a inch or two, should be within a foot or so of the pond unless there are other out of pond lights that you didn't mention. If you can find the little connector, some times just squeezing it with pliers will restore the connection for awhile, but best that it is removed, cleaned, and reinstalled to get a longer life. If it breaks during the process, you might be able to find another connector at a home supply store, or good hardware store. This is (if installed properly originally) a very safe low voltage system, so don't be too concerned about grave danger. None the less, it is always best to remove power when working with electricity, and I encourage you to do so. Also, it would be good to know if the light(s) that don't work are the furthest from the transformer. If they are, the main wire could be broken, but unless someone has cultivated or used a shovel near the pond, it is more likely to be the connector mentioned above. If metal tools of any sort have been used in the area, (my Mrs. prefers a long handled weeder...) it could be a break or nick in the main wire. There are splicers available for those too, you just need enough loose wire to use them. Good Luck! I had a mission fig tree that I gave up to my school science building in NH when I moved and it is still alive, it lost and regrew all of its leaves at once and was never put in the cold. Unfortunately I live in an apartment and don't have any cool place to put this poor thing. Thank you for the advice. Can a plant go dormant when its in warm temperatures all year?

marti- yeah, I feel that way most days. It takes me a few hrs for my meds to get in me for me to get moving around here anyway. I did get the 'fallen' shelf back up late yesterday - and half the shelf above it this morning. Instead of the long shelf (wall to wall) I used 2 smaller pieces I had here (the ends from when they cut my shelves to size) for the higher shelf - nothing else to use those for anyway. There'll be a few inches open between them but I won't have to fight another 5' long board either. I did one side, will probably put up the other side (half) shortly. After pup gets her walk. I'll save that long shelf board for the shelf I want put above the normal shelf (over the clothes rod) in that closet. Someone else will have to do that - it's way too high up for me to try. It's going to be a storage/linen closet. I did spend a good amount of time looking for the level. I looked in the back room twice for it. the 2nd trip there I 'saw' it. right out in open space waiting for me! eatrealfood - that'd sure be a good idea - a girl's shop class. I would have loved it. Learning to patch drywall, put up a shelf, fix a squeaky floor board, wire a lamp, etc would have been good things to learn back then.

All you want is to not have to use the apple wall plug and still have fast charging? Your question could be clearer. Your best bet is as above stated...buy it. If you want to mod the cable thats a little different. I was looking into making a hub useable for fast charging and data transfer at the same time. I found it to be complicated by apple. They add ressistors to there plug lines to disallow fast charging from some devices. The resistor can vary from iphone models. I was looking at the time the 4 was the thing so maybe things have changed. There was a company that would sell the mod parts but I forget the name. For some reason I think they could not sell completed units... legalese crap. In the end I never made the time to do the mod. Just use the wall plugs. You make me wonder if fast charging will work in the hard wired wall usb outlets I bought... never though to check. I never had an issue other than hubs. You may be better served asking at a place like XDAdevelopers.
