I have purchased things from them in the past as they are local. They have good selection and service, but I don't think their prices are the very best. Some of their salespersons are excellent and others not so much. I shopped them for my current full kitchen appliance purchase, but decided on a BlueStar range, which they don't carry, so ended up ordering from Reno's in Fairfield, NJ.

That's too funny--we used Reno's (other location) for our kitchen appliances, but the price Leibert's gave us for a Wolf range is $300 less than Reno's price. Had Reno's met the price, we would have stuck with them for the Wolf, too, but they couldn't/wouldn't meet the price.

BTW Marilyn in Reno's cust svce is terrific.

I guess Leibert's does have good prices on Wolf/SZ. One of our purchases from them was a Wolf NG cooktop (about 5 or 6 years ago), which was a bit underpowered but far superior to the electric cooktop (Dacor, I think) that it replaced. Didn't find their prices on other items -- Bosch, Thermador and KA -- quite as good as Reno's, and as I said above, decided to go with a BS range this time, not Wolf. It may be that different stores have different arrangements/guidelines with different manufacturers and distributors, so they have better or worse prices on different lines.

Was hoping to have the appliances delivered in 3 weeks and maybe even be cooking by Labor Day, but today learned that our GC screwed up -- not getting an additional permit apparently required for radiant heat -- so everything may go on hold for 2 or 3 weeks for the permit and inspection process. Bummer. Hope your project goes more smoothly, cat mom. I assume Marilyn at Reno's customer service was not your salesperson, right? What did she do for you (other than not matching Leibert's price on the Wolf!)?

You're correct reposado, Marilyn was not our salesperson, she is in a different location/bldg in cust svce. She was absolutely wonderful in helping us to resolve our original range situation (I'm waiting to post more details on that 'til all the t's are crossed/i's dotted, you know how it goes).

Marilyn had nothing to do with not matching Leibert's price on the Wolf. We'd gone looking at other ranges while waiting to hear how our situation would be resolved. Our search took us to Conn. (to check out a Capital Precision, which seems to be in short supply around these parts), and while on the other side of the TZ, decided to check out Leibert's, to see what they had. We spent a fair am't of time with a salesperson there, discussing the Wolf AG, so we asked for the price. We really just wanted to get an idea as to the cost of the Wolf (we figured we'd be purchasing the new range from Reno's as we'd already been working with them). When we spoke with the mgr at Reno's (who'd handled one of our purchases), we told him the price Leibert's had quoted, and asked if Reno's price was the same, and if not, would they match it. He was surprised that Leibert's was selling the range for that price, and told us if we could get it for that price, we should get it from the other store. We did call again, to give Reno's an opportunity to meet the price, but were told the same thing as before. I asked the salesperson at Leibert's how they were able to sell the range for less, and he told me that they do such a high volume of business for Wolf/SZ, they are allowed to charge what they want.

We really and truly wanted to and had planned to make the purchase at Reno's (we'd gotten our entire kitchen's worth of appliances there). We have been fine with them, and as I said, Marilyn was extremely helpful and responsive with our range situation and also with any other appliance questions we may have had.

BTW, we know about things being held up. Because we've been waiting to see if/when a range switch would take place, we've been holding off on finishing the (HW) floors. This has held up the installation of our toe kicks on our cabs and a wood panel under our msg ctr (can't wait to see how much "off" the color is since the kicks and panel haven't been exposed to as much sunlight as the cabs!). Since the installer had to wait to come back to install the toe kicks and the panel, our KD's have held off having him come back to adjust/replace some glides, door hinges, my towel bar, etc. Bummer is right!

I'm having all sorts of problems with them at the moment. I ordered an item and the day before the installer was supposed to come (after the installer called me to set up a time), I received a call to say the item was no longer available. They then told me I either had to take a substitute item at the same price, or a new model at a substantially higher price. I chose the substitute, a discussion which took an extra week, and guess what: the day before the installer was to arrive with the substitute, I get a call saying that despite their promises the item is yet available for delivery. Of course, they're sitting on my deposit (a large number). Unfortunately, my story isn't even over....

Don't buy anything from Leibert's. My architect recommended Leiberts for appliance because they provided the best customer service. That was a complete lie. They were good at taking your money. They shipped us a defective Marvel wine cooler and a wolf stove with rusty drip pan. I had to go after the Marvel distributor myself to get the power board replaced. The sales manager, Jeff was a phony and was all talk about helping us. After emailing him about the rusty drip pan more than a month, he has done nothing. Leibert's is the worst appliance store.
