Well, it was so close and a good game, but the Saints beat us!

Good luck to both teams as they head to the Superbowl!

Good luck to both teams. You're both winners already.

The Eagles sucked this year but I will enjoy the SB without having a heart attack since my team is not in it.

I'd also like to get on my soapbox a bit here. A couple years ago when the Phillies were in the World Series, I posted a similar "go Phillies" post here. Someone (I don't remember who, but a regular)scolded me for my post saying if it's something not everyone can share in, then I shouldn't be posting it. I was taken aback and offended at the time. I am glad to see this post here now to prove that even though some are more interested that others, we all love to follow the championships.

Go Teams Go! I can;t wait for the halftime show and the commercials.

I have not perceived high sensibility to rain with GdSJ, it is not a winner in this matter but it has a decent rain resistance, of course, it depends on the rain intensity. My climate is rainy, but the rains usually are like drizzle instead of strong rains. I can get good GdSJ figs, an impossible mission with other varieties like Madeleine des Deux Saisons or Figue d'Or, for example. Pierre Baud, in his book "Le figuier pas a pas", says that "GdSJ is a difficult fig to transport due to a thin skin, however it bears rain fairly well" Leon, I think you will enjoy this figs next seasons, it improves with age (more productive) and it is said that in dry climates like yours it can dry on the tree, getting a super sweetness taste. Probably I never will see it, my climate is very humid. By the way, it is a vigorous tree, the fig in the picture is my father's in law GdSJ, it only is three years old and is more than 3 ft high.

I had the opportunity to see the 5 breeding plants that Alfredo Manrique has and they were much smaller than I thought. What made them look large was that they were multi growth.

Thanks, David, for supporting the Manning's hometown :) I thought back, and I can't think of a single time that I was 100% against a Manning. I always pull for the Mannings. I even had an autographed picture of Archie in his Ole Miss uniform on my bulletin board when I was a student at LSU --- I LOVE the Manning family. But, the Saints really do come first this time. I've just waited too long for this.

Jessy, Do you really like them? We really didn't have much time, and probably could have done something better if we would have had more time. It really wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. Pat, don't tell Karen I told you, but it was published --- on the front page of the New Orleans paper (she "borrowed"it). It's great, ain't it? On Conversations, I posted the same guy's letter to the NFL after the victory. It's pretty good, but not as good.

Wow, Pam! I don't remember that thread, but I would have been taken aback by it also!

Funny thing here is, I don't even like football! LOL I have absolutely NO CLUE what is going on in a football game, unless a touchdown is scored! Last night I was watching and asking Tim to explain it to me....too many rules! LOL

Anyone remember the episode of Friends when Joey was going to host a game show called "Bamboozled"? Well that is what football is like to me!

I have to tell you, I used to live in Indiana,(graduated from indiana University) and my DD and DSIL have season tickets to the Colts games, so of course I will be rooting for the Colts and Peyton Manning. I probably will be in the minority here though. LOL. Good luck to both teams!

Adding my congrats to both teams! I still can't believe Farve tossed that last pass instead off running and sliding for a few more yards! Sherry, I've been a big fan of the Colts and the Manning brothers for years...I like Green Bay too and that's coming from a die hard Vikings fan. LOL!!

We saw the Manning House in the NO Garden District. Favre, Saints, Manning, it all comes back to NOLA!

Thanks! Christy had warned me ahead of time that if the Saints won she'd be crying for her father who passed away about ten years ago and didn't live to see them getting good. Heck, we both cried a bunch of times and I'm so happy for New Orleans. Her sister didnt get her paper this morning and was mad because she wanted to save it. She kept trying to call the Times Picayune...lol.. that's funny that she thought they'd be working in the office. Anyway, they ran out of papers and are doing a second large printing that will be available tomorrow.

I can just see her Father and his brothers cheering the Saints on. We have everything ready for our Superbowl gumbo.

I don't like sports at all, but I sure watched this with her to support and share with her.

Indiana gal here! We've gotta love it while it lasts. Manning will retire eventually.

That's the silliest thing I've ever heard. Isn't every post inherently something that not everyone would be interested in? ESPECIALLY on the conversations page?

Anyway, I like football ok and we may or may not be going to a SB party. If we go, I probably won't watch more than five minutes of the game, gotta sociallize you know. If we don't I'll probably watch more of it. But honestly, I'm more interested in the commercials! LOL

Anyway, congrats to the teams and the fans that made it!
