How high should water resistant panels go for a bathtub?

I didn't know what the technical term for these panels are, but they are the panels that one would put on the walls of an alcove bathtub; these panels would be water resistant, as opposed to sheetrock.

I suppose that the panels could go all the way to the ceiling, but that would seem to be a waste. Perhaps they should go to the standard door height of 6'8"? Perhaps these panels come in regular sizes, and I should just use one of the sizes that gets to around 6-1/2'? Using a regular bathtub stall as a guide, it seems that 6'4" is proper, but that would be for a combo bathtub-shower.
