retrieving lost pics...........

I'm hoping someone here can help. Actually, I'm asking for a friend. Apparently, their computer had been running slow, so her husband had some guy 'clean it out'. Problem is, now my friend's photos are all gone. Is there any way to get them back? She is beside herself, and I don't know enough about computers (neither does she) to help her. I sure don't want to tell her to do something that could end up making things worse!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I have had some success with RECUVA. It has a wizard which will allow you to target jpegs, and help you through the process. It's free from the company that gives us CCleaner and Defraggler.

Topher maybe this question is already answered by now but I usually see growth in a week or so after cutting stem back if not when you squeeze the stem you should feel something solid in there I cut back to the tip of that point and if its still alive a leaf pushes up fairly quickly or...whats up did it make it?

Reclaiming a 'lost' bathroom (w/pics)

Well, DH doesn't think the bathroom needs painting at all, and nixed the lavender and coral ideas. (Although Les, I really was leaning toward Coral Island.) All our creative efforts (and extra $$) have gone to our weekend cabin we've built over the past 5 years. We painted the main room up there DE Miner's Dust and I may check if we have some left to paint the bathroom with. It's eggshell, I think, and a warm gray. I'd love to frame the mirror, and may do that when I replace the baseboards. I agree, it would look a whole lot better. Of course, I would like to gut the whole thing and start over, since we re-did it originally when we were young and broke, but it is pretty functional as is.

Your house is beautiful ... the pool, the lake, the stairs, that window, your fab kitchen ... but those tomatoes - WOW!!! That is awesome that they are seeded from the 40's. Now if I could get my hands busy in the garden ... so far this year it's just been my 4 year old and me digging for worms :)

I agree with marys1000: The sidelights should be the same color as the shutters (if you plan on having shutters). That will unify the design of the house and still allow the door to stand out. Our front door is Cottage Red, too--really nice color, I think. Our shutters are Essex Green (which is almost black). Lovely house, btw. :)

It will depend on whether the guy who "cleaned it up" was selective, or whether he wiped the hard drive and reinstalled the operating system...which will pretty much kill any chance of recovering those photos. And this is the perfect cautionary tale about keeping your digital photos in more than one place. Even without some technical incompetent doing damage, hard drives die, and keeping your photos only on the hard drive is an invitation to disaster.
