Fine for the walls but due to traction/slip issues I don't advise it on the floor.

Can't really advise on cleaning, overall though, no real issues with mosaics. I've heard cleaning/streaking complaints with full sheet glass enclosures, but never with glass mosaics.

Most glass makers have installation instructions on their websites. Install accordingly.

I don't imagine it's too tough to keep clean. The person to answer that would be staceyneil. I just put together a mosaic glass shower for her last year.

So far, our glass mosaic tile (on the shower walls) has been great. I haven't had any issues with cleaning it.. just a spray and wipe down with regular tile cleaner every couple of weeks. I do a rinse with the hand shower on the walls most likely to get shampoo drips, but I doubt my husband does that. I also do a really quick, not-too-thorough squeegee after showering (I do a more thorough job on the glass doors and marble floor).

Ours is the standard mosaic that comes on paper-faced sheets. The surface has a slight texture.

The only other advice I have is to maybe do a test board of your chosen tile and thinset and grout before buying the whole lot. Our tile (white glass) looked very white when set on a white background, but became much more blue-grey when installed. the thinkset was labeled "white" but in reality it was fairly grey. I do think you can buy pure white thinsets, which might have solved the color issue. Anyway, since even opaque glass is translucent, doing a test board would avoid any surprises. (I had to change the entire color/design scheme of the room!)

All in all, I am very happy with the decision to use the glass mosaic tile. Also happy it was a pro -Bill- not me, doing the installation. Our shower wall tile runs all the way around the room and soaking tub area, so there was a lot of layout to figure out.. it looked very complicated and he did a fantastic job.

Actually, the thinset was labeled "universal color", and I have a real bone to pick with Mapei because of that. I was working on a shower today using that same Ultralite thinset. I opened one bag, and it was the same off white thinset I had when I did your shower. I opened the next bag, and it was stark white-- both marked "universal color". Thank God atleast it was all ONE universal color!!

Just one more reason to stick with Laticrete. Thank God the local Daltile's going to start stocking their 255 again!
