Which manufacturers have great Customer Service?

Thought I'll ask now rather than finding out the hard way later.

I know Wolf's and Miele's Customer Service is great. How about the rest - DCS (F&P), American Range, Thermador etc?

Would also want to know if you had a bad experience.

That is wonderful! I got my American Olean from a local store and with the great price, samples, service, huge variety and delivery turn around time I am also really pleased. I chose American Olean because I'm looking for "all green" materials and their website is really useful for researching which lines have the most recycled content. I've worn hearing aids since I was 25 and it's very important to go to an audiologist. I first went to Tufts Medical in Boston and was diagnosed and treated and, since then, I go to an audiologist I trust and admire. I'm completely deaf now due to otostenosis but, due to technology, I have hearing aids that access the middle ear to allow me to hear. People look at my sideways when they see me talking on my phone with the hearing part placed above my ear, that's how I hear through a tiny chip that transports vibrations. I also have a unit that I have plugged in on the tv that sends the sound to that same chip and only I hear it. There are so many types of aids and the dr. will know which type is the best for you depending on your loss and your age. Many older people seem to have trouble adapting. I understand that. If you have a large hospital near you, start with an appt. with an ENT and continue from there. They have a broader base of clients and a better expertise. State clearly how much you want to spend as it can get quite pricey. Hope this helps.

I'm going to reiterate that Home Depot is not winning any customer loyalty from me!! It's the only hardware option I have nearby locally. Usually buy from them due to path of least resistance. So far my bad experiences have been: limited in store merchandise options that I like, shopping online to check availability before going to the store and then finding out that the online availability was not correct, ordering things from them and they never show up. This is not a reflection of the local employees, they are nice and good, but the corporation is not up to snuff IMHO. We are putting Home Depot on our "avoid if possible" list. Switching to the Menards next town down the road, and they also do contact less pick up and everyone in the store wears masks, and they also do home delivery. Just seems more "put together" overall and so far we've found things we like there, like a kitchen faucet, bathroom light fixtures . . . We still go to Home Depot for quick things we need mid-project, and I do find plants there I like sometimes, but we drive down to Menards at least once a month. If the pandemic wasn't still ongoing we'd go to Lowe's 45 min. away but we're limiting shopping trips both for economic and social distancing reasons. We have such a backlog of stuff at home to deal with we don't really need to go shopping anyway, this is not something we are doing just because of the pandemic, it suits where we are at now with our lives, wanting to focus on interacting with what we have now, not bringing more into the house . . . Edited to add that I had to wait 20 min. at HD to get a refund for the merchandise that never showed up. It was hardware cloth fencing. The whole time yahoos without masks going in and out and a ventilation system blowing on me with recirculated who knows what. My eyes were itching the whole rest of the day. Next visit I guess I will also have to wear protective eye coverings. Afterwards, the customer service person said they had the fencing in the store, and offered to give me a discount. I questioned her because I said the whole reason I had ordered the fencing is they didn't have it in the store. She again said, "We have it in the store." I went to that aisle because I also needed plant stakes and they were in the same aisle so what the heck. Had to walk through the whole store. And lo and behold, NO, they did not have the fencing and neither did they have the stakes. So quite a wasted trip, wasted time and in these days, wasted risk due to poor customer service. Quite the opposite of my last trip to Menards. I was going for contact-less pick-up but I didn't print my receipt because I thought I would be able to pull it up on my phone. Could not get cell service once at the store, but the folks at customer service printed it out for me. Meanwhile, everyone in store wearing masks, good ventilation, and they were offering you masks if you didn't bring one. Polite, efficient service and delivering in-person what they promised on their Web site.

My grandson (14) is quite fussy about his hair and always has a great style. He recently found a young man on youtube (with great hair) selling a product my grandson wanted to try. Since he knows I exist to ensure his happiness, lol, I told him I'd send for some. I was issued a tracking number right away, but the product never seemed to leave the station. I finally wrote an email, then another, and finally one saying I was going to cancel and if they didn't refund my $ I would report to my CC company. I never got any response. My grandson was quite disappointed. When I looked at their website again, I noticed a newly posted customer service phone #, which I called. A very nice woman answered and when I explained the problem, she was so apologetic and said they'd been a little overwhelmed with orders so she was working very hard to get caught up. She said this was the 2nd time she had personally taken an order to the USPS, gotten a tracking # but the products never left the PO. She wasn't sure if someone was stealing them, or what. I told her it was for my grandson, who had seen a video on youtube. She said that is her son and he'd be thrilled to hear my grandson is a fan. She said she would have her son write a note to my grandson and that since her son wears a puka shell necklace in the videos, she would have him send a necklace, too. Remember those? I guess they are back in style, at least for boys. And she would reship the order priority mail the next day, which she did. My grandson was thrilled with the note (he's a big fan of some of these youtubers) and the necklace, which he has been wearing. Not sure if he loves the product as much as he hoped. Now he wants a perm so it will have more wave, lol.

I can't imagine anyone giving better service than Art Culinaire, the US distributor for Lacanche.

And, I can't tell from the post if you're only interested in range manufacturers, but as always I'd tout Modern-Aire for ventilation hoods. Great one on one support.

Thermador stopped making parts for my 12 year old double wall ovens. I can't find service personnel outside of appliance stores in my area (major metropolitan area in the Northeast). The svc personnel they gave me didn't return my call. The second people they gave me said the parts were no longer available for my model. I gave up and went shopping today.

I received great service from F/P for my DCS after they took over. Luckily, I haven't had any other service issues with Bosch, VAH or SubZero.

What little service we have req'd I would give Bluestar, Wolf, and SZ top billing.

My experience with Art Culinaire was more responsiveness than service but, contrary to clinresga's experience, I could not get them to return calls or send me the Lacanche consumer marketing package/catalog they promised me on numerous occasions in the early planning stages of our design and build. For the cost of their product, that crossed them off the list early in the game.

As others have posted recently, my experience to date with AC has been great. I know the AC people personally, by name, and have emailed and spoken with them repeatedly. This is a small company dedicated to just one thing (well, maybe two counting their vineyard) and I love the one on one relationships that I have there. Not to mention the support of the Lacanche community particularly here on GW.

Just as a contrast, I asked Chelsea for color samples not once, not twice, but three times. The third time, I was in such a time crunch that I couldn't wait for the Priority Mail she usually employed, so she sent it FedEx and refused to take my credit card for the charge. Doubt Subzero or any other huge company would do that.

SZ/Wolf? The few times I had deal with them directly went something like this. Day 1 of my Wolf installation and burn-in which I knew nothing about. I was preheating the oven and I thought the unit was going to go up in flames. I called BS in a panic. I gave my S# and they began addressing me by my first name (they did not have first or last name yet), had my full address and knew the unit installion had been completed and reported at 3PM THAT day only 2 hours earlier. They walked through the process which was mainly assuring me what was happening was normal. Not too shabby!

Go to our current home (and the one in the initial running for the LC) that we have been for 6 months now. After the first few months, the SZ developed a somewhat minor service issue. They came, they saw, they repaired but it happened 2 more times. After the 3rd repair, the unit seemed fine but they insisted on just bringing me a new one bc 3 service calls in the first 6 months` was unnacceptable to them and the selling distributor. Again, not too shabby!

I am happy for the satisfied LC customers and am fully aware of their impressive virtual 100% approval rating from customers. And I cannot guarantee LC would not have been scratched based on cost alone. As you can probably gather, the unit I was looking at all in was estimated in the $22-24 thousand range! However, good service is not limited to just the LC AC client base.

Just opinion asked and experience shared with OP.

i have an american range and had no problems with there service dept. or anyone for that matter. they were eager to help. it was kinda scary.others have had good experiences as well. check out the AR thread.

I too have had great response from American Range. This company continues to impress me and my very un impressionable hubby.

In fairness, we had excellent response from Wolf (Manufacturer) when service was less than satisfactory (the Service Company that is used in the SE) on a problem range. The issue was not resolved, but the range was replaced with no hassle at all. (With the American)

Interestingly, I too had a heck of a time getting info from AC/Lacanche. Finally did, but it took quite some time.

After my installer tossed out parts for my F&P dishwasher (which he denied), F&P were very nice about sending the missing parts. And no 20 minute recording to sit through to get to a human.
