I use the bookmark tool bar that is part of firefox. At the top you have the 3 bars above where your tabs are, the one with file, view etc, then you have the middle one and then the bottom one that bottom one is the bookmarks toolbar and you can create a folder there on that bar and store your daily used bookmarks in there, I have mine set up with several folders like forums, mail, music etc and in each folder I have my associated sites, if you just have a few sites you want to use then you can do that with out making folders, When you are at a site you want to use, use your cursor on the address bar and grab the little icon of that web address that is at the right end and drag it onto the bookmarks toolbar, then it will become a link you can click on. to create the folders on that bar just right click on the bookmarks toolbar and choose new folder, then you can change the name to what ever you want. To put a site into that folder go to the website then right click on that folder and choose add bookmark here. If you put individual sites on your bar and want to change the name or shorten it just right click on it and choose properties and there you can change that. Here you can see how mine looks click on that a couple times to get full size. Now I only have 2 bars then my tabs I did away with my middle bar so, and moved some of the stuff that used to be on the middle bar up to my top bar, so I have that and then below that I have the bookmarks bar with my folders and fave sites there. see if that would help you out

Well you haven't specified where the bookmarks are you want to import. If they are in Firefox, activate that copy of Firefox, then go to "organize bookmarks" then to "file" then to "export". Put this export on some medium you can move, memory stick, network...and do the same on the new Firefox except click "import" and browse for the file you just exported.

I am not getting these follow-up posts emailed to me even though i checked to have emails sent - so I didn't know there was more. I hope they keep supporting version 3 - since we have 5 xp computers between home and work. I do have FF4 on dd's laptop - but not quite sure how it's going for her. She said she didn't like it - and I offered to try above suggestions to make it appear more like she's familiar with. She wants me to in theory - but in reality never wants to hand over the computer to have me do it. When I have more leisure to try again, am I recalling correctly that I can have 2 firefoxes installed - one version 3, and one version 4? And I can use xmarks to sync bookmarks, etc. That way I can get used to ff4 - but go back to 3 for the times I need things to go smoothly and not tinker? Any special instructions for doing 2 firefoxes? Thank you. Lynn. PS - still wonder if anyone else if having the issue where responses don't get emailed to them. that is very unusual because one of the big things with firefox 3 was the speed increases in the bench mark tests done for firefox3 it had much higher speeds and much less memory use than earlier versions on all the tests. (which means less bloat and less hogging up of our precious RAM and CPU resources) I read where a few people who saw slow downs later found out it was due to one of their add-ons. Most of the things that are "new" can easily be changed to the older version view like the address bar. Bookmarks can be removed if you go in to your area for organizing bookmarks. There are many security improvements in 3 also, warnings to let you know if you are on a bad website or if there is a phising attempt etc, very helpful to keep you from wandering into a trap. The reason I wait is because I use a lot of firefox add-ons and it takes time for the authors to get them all updated and working for the new version so I give them time to do that then I switch over. But I also read up on all the articles I can find so I know what to expect before I jump in.
