How to download background?

IE you right click the webpage and choose Save Background as...

Then I would make a folder for them if you plan to save more than one or two. Its just a regular image file, that the webpage that uses it will have a background statement in the body tag. Something like this

betty check your email program most of them have a large list of backgrounds in them that you can simply select to use on your outgoing email. Just know that depending on the person receiving it and their email program that background may not show up at all and it may show as an actual attachment to the email.

ok Betty what kind of music are you wanting are you just wanting short sound files or are you looking for full songs by specific artists? There are many file format types that music comes in so you would need to know if there is a specific file format you have to have, for example midi, wav, mp3 etc. If you just want small sound clips you can find a lot of those for free on the web they come in .wav and midi format. If you want real songs you probably want mp3 format. The main question is where can you download SAFE files that are not infected and also do it legally. You will need to have a folder on your computer that you will have dedicated to storage of your sound files, XP has such a folder under the MyDocuments area called My Music so you can just store them all there and you will know exactly where to find them. I will provide a link to a website that has a lot of free.wav files you can just click on any of them to listen to them, they are free, but I always advise once you download it to your pc before you ever click on it there to play it, right click on it first and choose scan file option so that your antivirus program will scan that specific file and make sure it is clean. this link tells you how to download the files on this site the instructions are how you would save any of these type files. http://www.ilovewavs.com/DownloadHelp.htm#How the link below will be the one to the site home page where you can select from different categories of music. Audacity records digital audio information. If you're recording a sound sourced from a record, with the sound source connected to a PC, it's gone through a A to D conversion. Which is what my first comment today mentioned as a factor limiting quality. PC level sound converters are of low quality generally. A really good one all by itself costs hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Whether a sound is stored in analog form or in consumer digital source, at the point where it's inside a PC and "recordable", it's digital. Digital is digital, the original source doesn't matter as far as ways to record it. When you say "OP", are you talking about the conversation above from many years back? PS - there's nothing at all wrong with sound stored in digital form, per se. Most modern musical sound recordings are stored in that way. But at the recording studio level, the sound is lossless and is at VERY high bitrates and VERY high sample rates, much higher in both regards than anything available or playable at a consumer level. Playback of such recordings over appropriate equipment sounds nearly exactly the same as the sound was live.

OE has several different "stationeries" - on a NEW MESSAGE - click on FORMAT on the toolbar - then select APPLY STATIONERY and it will show several to choose from.

I have added a link to a site that has a bunch of cute stationery. If you Google "Outlook Express stationery" you will find a bunch!

You can even make your own from your own pictures :0)

I clicked on new message then I went to Format, then to background, then picture and brought up my pictures.
I clicked on a picture of a Dove and oked it and when My message came up the Dove was all over the page ...dozens of them.
What did I do wrong?

Your close Betty -

Just go down a little further - Don't chose BACKGROUND - but further down the list is "APPLY STATIONERY" - that is what you need.

You are wanting to use stationery, not background. It gets a little confusing :) - but you are almost there!
