Drop Down Menu Problems in IE6

I am using IE6. I am having problems when I right click to get a drop down menu. Instead of a box that appears with a border....I get nothing. However, when I hold my right mouse button down.....and move it over where the box should be......then the information appears. When I do that, there is still no border around the information.

Has anyone else faced this problem? Does anyone have a solution to get things back to "normal"? I can operate okay the way it is, but it is not right and I would like to find a solution.

How long has this been going on. If only for a couple/few days, try doing a system restore back to a date before this happened. Have you ran any antispyware programs to make sure that its not caused by a nasty

Frankly, I would update to IE7. It is more secure than IE6.

I'd love to be both of your neighbors and chat. I was born in 1940 and grew up in Mayberryish. Our yard was fenced and i loved to swing on the gate till i got caught everytime. Remember butter rationing and the blocks of margarine with the yellow dye to stir in. Grandmother knit wool socks for the soldiers. My aunt made bandages and fixed first aide kits. This morning our subject was "before electricity" Just think we've evolved over thousands of years to sleep at dusk and awake at dawn, after electicity thousands of years of evolved sleep patterns were thrown out the window till now there is no real dark,which may very well be why so many people have sleep problems. try this for the black toolbar Black toolbar in IE8 on the top of your toolbar right click and select to show menu bar and any other of the missing bars you are not currently showing. The menu bar and the toolbar are missing in Internet Explorer on Windows Vista or Windows XP or in Windows Explorer on Windows XP

Here is the recipe you requested, Shaun. A friend from work gave the recipe to me. Pineapple Coconut Self Frosting Cake 1 8.75-oz can crushed pineapple in syrup 1/3 cup shortening 1/2 cup sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 egg 1 1/4 cup all purpose flour 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup flaked coconut 1/3 cup brown sugar 1/3 cup pecans 3 tablespoon margarine or butter (melted) Thoroughly drain pineapple, reserving 1/2 cup of the syrup. Beat together shortening, sugar and vanilla. When creamy, beat in egg. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with reserved syrup, beating after each addition. Spread 1/2 of batter in greased and floured 8" round or square cake pan. Try to evenly layer with crushed pineapple. Cover with remaining batter. In small bowl, combine coconut, brown sugar, pecans, and butter. Try to sprinkle evenly over batter. Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes. Nice to serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

We ate our Thanksgiving feast at lunch time, so my brother could make the 4 hr drive back home before dark. I didn't think I could eat so much so early in the day, but I did! Spent all morning cooking, but the kiddoes cleaned up afterwards. As a committed foodie, I just couldn't face a store-bought pumpkin pie (the rest of the gang had no such problems) so I made myself a tray of sugar free brownies. And there are still a few left.... Thanks to all for your kind thoughts when I'm feeling so punk this year leading up to the holidays. At least we have a fridge full of quality leftovers now, as I don't think I'll feel as good next week as I do today (my doc is changing my meds this week). Oh well, when a foodie is sick, she stops doing housework, laundry, shopping, entertaining, etc. but she DOESN'T stop cooking, even if she can only cook for herself. The mere thought of consuming fast- or pre-processed food makes me feel so much worse than than standing up to throw together soup or an omelette. I have much to be thankful for this year!

just a note of info windows will be pushing out IE 8 in the very near future like the next few weeks though updates so you may want to watch for that, if you do not want it you will have to uncheck it from your updates, you can choose not to get it.
They have put out a blocker for it also.

I am using McAfee for my virus protection. As far as I know, it is doing a good job. My protection is automatically updated. My computer seems to be running pretty good except this drop down menu problem.

I appreciate the suggestions about updating to IE8. Have they worked out most of the bugs? When you download it....will it download over the IE6 that I am using now?

I really appreciate all the help and suggestions. Thanks for all your help.

Well, I am one who will have to decline IE8 since it caused me some problems when I updated to it last month. Had the same problem on both computers, too. Guess I'd be willing to give it another try on one computer as long as I know I can roll back to IE7.
