how do I add pics to a half full CD?

Is there a way to add pics to a half full Cd? Picasa won't do it.

unless it's a CD R/W, I don't believe you can, at least I haven't been able to.

once you have finished burning a batch to a cd it is done, if it happens to be a R/W like randy mentioned you may be able to add more but if it is not a re writable one nope can not do it.

Your kitchen is beautiful. It just needs a little fun added to it. The valance that starts from the ceiling with the stage coach ties would be a good choice. I think that picture is a great example of how you can bring colors into the room from the fabric. Also, I would suggest using the same valance in the dining area. The picture with the shorter valance looks too choppy. I would look for a print fabric that had some of the colors of the granite in it. I really like the iron art over the stove although I would prefer to see a tile BS, if funds allow it. The dining table needs a large colored art bowl. I agree with Igloo, the colbat just doesn't make it and you need to pull in the golds and rusts. Colbalt blue actually sticks out like a sore thumb but it may work if you have art or fabric with a little colbalt blue in it along with rusts and golds. I would not use any rug in an eating area unless you were using a glass table. The patio doors look fine without any treatment but a valance would add some warmth to the room and still give you full view (use one that starts from the ceiling) Don't worry about tying in the white appliances. I would just ignore them since the wood trim is painted white (that's enough white). Once you get the window treatments squared away, I would like to see some colored accessories in the glass cabs instead of plain white. JMHO

Do you have a separate Dining Room (this is where it would help if we saw the layout of the entire floor - both here and on Kitchens - not just the addition, the entire floor). I'm asking b/c if you do, you might consider making the table space a banquette and taking more space for the Powder Room. (Bench along the Powder Room and, possibly, "top" walls) Regarding the laundry - I'll be honest, I would not want my laundry anywhere where guests could see it - and putting it in the Powder Room means guests will definitely see it! It might help to build an enclosure around it - it would at least hide the washer & dryer, but it wouldn't help with any laundry sitting in the room - clean or dirty. Note that expanding the Powder Room may mean going with the narrower window (8'+ vs 10').

Taking Erinsean's idea about adding drywall to the front of the hearth, here are a couple more ideas. I have kept your existing wall decor, but there are certainly other options there as the wall becomes more of a normal backdrop. Here's how it might look if you drywall over the stones and the face of the hearth and then grey was the hearth and put some slate around the opening with a white mantel surround and our Carolina Window Pane Fireplace Door. To achieve this look you would need to float the fireplace opening out with bricks before installing the slate. Here's the same concept without the slate and mantel just using our Legend Fireplace Door with Custom Tuscan Leaf Surround. You cannot use drywall right up to the fireplace opening because it is combustible, so you would need to float the fireplace opening out with bricks and then plaster over the bricks to finish flush with the drywall. The yard does not have to look like a recycle salvage- the cheap/recycled pots can be camouflaged with the much nicer wood planters just like garden nursery pots. In the case of using the square storage bins or kitty litter buckets, they fit/fill a bit nicer into a square wooden box surround than round pots can. Garbage cans don't have to look garbage either- there are attractive ones out there. Or at least ones that more decorative or meant to be seen and look like pots and don't necessarily need to be hidden. They can also be handy for container growing stuff with deep roots. I container grow horseradish and salsify, and just couldn't find any pots that were big and deep enough till I found a nice trio of plain round heavy plastic garbage cans- they look a lot like the big pot on the left in the OP pic, only they came in black.

You sure can. The commercial application Roxio will allow you to add to a previously created CD if you do not "close" it thus keeping it "appendable". I do it often with my Quicken backup, and on occasion with pictures.

There are perhaps other applications, maybe even free.

I thought if you finished the burn that made it closed and not appendable? Well I learned something new. But I think I always do the finish or close on the ones I do so that I know they will work. Even on a plain one time write cd you can do that? I did not know that.

Yup! Just did it yesterday with Quicken on a continuing CD-R. That's why a while back if you recall my Roxio EZ-CD Creator corrupted and I asked for information on the then current version. I liked the ability. Also, remember we are talking data/photos here not music. In music the closing action makes a difference if it is to be a generic replay for most anywhere or on the computer of creation. (I think I got that right.)

Disclaimer: I have yet to try it on a DVD-R (minus). I guess I should to see if the privilege is the same.

I do remember that you were looking for the Roxio. Thanks for that info I will have to try it. I knew for music(at least I thought so too) that it did have to be finalized for it to work on most players so that would be why no more could be added. Cool.

I was thinking about this as I was on the rider mowing the lawn. Yes it is that time again. The one down side to using an appendable disk is file/folder naming. If the name has been previously used it will not automatically copy. The user will be notified of the duplicity, and offered the option to "replace" or ignore. This is particularly true in photos when they are stored just by the camera file identifier. So to avoid this a user has to develop a file naming system to facilitate on-going storage.

I do the music with Roxio, but always close it because I put on all I can, there is no reason to add. The CDs are cheap enough to toss if you want to change it. I buy a hundred for sometimes $15.

Closing/finalizing a music CD is good practice for the above mentioned reason.
