which is a better product - hardi color plus or hardi primed?
Comments (10)If you want a better paint job overall DO NOT get the color plus, and have everything site painted after install. This is usually more expensive. If you have the option of getting the color plus material at the same price as primed then go for it! I cant imagine why this would be unless they will not be painting it after the install which is normally the only way it can be cost competitive. Having the color plus installed (if its really is the same price)could mean less work for the painter. Fewer coats equals less cost. Iam sure what your builder means is that you can have color plus without further on site painting or primed with site painting. On-site painted will produce better results as long as you have competent painters....See MoreHardi Board with Color Plus Technology
Comments (1)No, it does not. However, the installers may need to apply touch up. We're having the Hardi lap siding and shingles installed as we speak. If I recall correctly, there was some Hardi trim or perhaps some soffit material that could not be obtained with Color Plus. Our installer had these items painted prior to them being sent to our job site....See MoreHardie Board Color Plus Siding - good choice or run away???
Comments (0)Hello - we've just begun the process of purchasing a new home in a development which ONLY offers Hardie Board siding for their homes. We like the look of the siding and what we've been told so far regarding its longevity, however, upon further review (aka, internet research) it sounds like a good amount of folks are having trouble with their Hardie Board Color Plus siding (this is the pre-painted version). Can anybody here comment on how their siding has held up? Will we need to re-paint this siding in a handful of years? Any comments on your experience would be greatly appreciated!
