I've read several posts similar to this one and I don't understand what all the fuss is about. If I wanted to reply to a Craigslist email, I could do it in about 6 seconds with a few mouse clicks and not have to make any changes to the browser at all, nor would I need to install any type of a plug-in that might not be supported the next time the browser gets updated. Right-click the Craigslist email address Select Copy E-Mail Address with a left-click Open a new Tab-go to your AOL EMail Click Compose Right-click in the To: field and left--click to PASTE the email address you just copied a moment ago. What could be easier? Sometimes the problems encountered by users wanting to make everything work with one click are better solved by using what is already available to you. It's not that hard, and you just might learn something useful along the way.

mikie: can't say I understand the ghack... site well. It says to determine if my IE settings are already safely set in 'advanced' security mode by going thru Tools, Options, Advanced, and then down somewhere in the Security area to look or do something that is not clearly defined. I see that there is a check box for Allowing some 64 bit security setting that is checked in the ghack picture. It is not further described and it is not the highlighted item in that list. In my IE 11, that box is not checked, but by going more directly thru Tools, Security, I can see that 'advanced security' is selected. I suppose that 64 bit box might need to be checked, but it appears to be allowing more rather than less access and that seems like a weakness rather than an improvement. So, I don't know what I am supposed to do here. And it seems odd that a supposed huge hole that requires massive Microsoft scrambling can be fixed by checking a box or not!!! The ghack site then goes on about something called Enhanced Mitigated Experience Toolkit. It doesn't tell how to get it safely and also implies it is not needed if my security is set appropriately. Gee Thanks. Finally, it comments on Flash. I have already upgraded but I would like to point out that the Adobe terminology and others as well tend to suggest that it is an update rather than a newly named version. It seems odd that what seems like a patch, is a new version; but whatever, I guess.

Thank you for your replies. Something bad is definitely going on for the first time ever--10 years for me. By deleting all temp internet files and cookies, yahoo and ancestry seem back to normal. But when I try to check my current version of Java, I get this message-- "Java has discovered application components that could indicate a security concern." I ran a full system scan with Norton two days ago. It gives me the green arrow that all is ok. Removed 36 items. But last night I got violent warnings from IE that I was under attack by viruses and Trojan horses and to click to deal with. Nothing like this has ever happened before. Was not sure if it was really from IE. I shut down IE and went to Norton which also showed an attack and that they dealt with it. Then I ran another full system scan. Mama mia--terror. It found 31 items and deleted them. Everything is running fine except that Java is still giving me the same message as above when I try to find my version. Norton shows that I was attacked by a Trojan horse associated with Java but it was deleted and no further action is necessary--their words. The Trojan horse is-- a0ee3d65141.class--not sure if that is a zero or the letter O. So what is going on? And I am packing for the airport. My NAV just renewed a few days ago and I have the latest version. Thank you.

Bee you can keep your yahoo address but use a different email client to fetch all your yahoo mail and display it in their email format, you can also select to have any mail you are sending out from that new email client send it as the from address being your yahoo address. No one would know you had changed and you would not have to go through that hassle. I have that feature set up on some of mine I have kept some of my old email addresses active that way but never actually go there and use them. For example that gmx one is super easy to set up and use, it will not change a thing on your yahoo account so don't be afraid to do it because you think it may mess that up. It will then list on the gmx account your yahoo account and when you click on that you see all of that mail, it will also your gmx account and any mail etc you have in it. Most of the major players offer this option just because people dread having to make all those changes and notifying everyone. Plus if you decide you don't like it and don't want it just drop it, they are all free so why not give them a test drive. And it is usually very easy to copy your address book over also. this article covers this for gmail accounts, as I said most of the major ones can do this.
