Question about updating to Office 07

One of my computers is 1 1/2 yrs old and came with Office 03. Although I hate the new Office 07 (have it on my work machine), some problems have occurred transferring documents between 07 and 03. Also, I found a MS program I'd like to use on this machine which requires Word 07 to work.

I don't want to pay for Office 07 when I paid for 03 little over a year ago. I just need Word 07. Can this be upgraded or do I have to buy the whole new Office 07 Suite?

Wondering if Microsoft lets you pay for an upgrade without having to buy the whole mess. I looked around on the MS site and didn't see anything. I find it hard to believe I'd have to pay for a whole new set up. I just need Word 07.

Have you by chance looked at the compatability pack here...

read the overvies or install instructions before blindly installing this.

By installing the Compatibility Pack in addition to Microsoft Office 2000, Office XP, or Office 2003, you will be able to open, edit, and save files using the file formats new to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007.

I have a mulch pile about 3 feet high next to one of my remaining large silver maples. If you dig down about 6-8 inches in the mulch you can start pulling silver maple roots out by the 5 gallon pail full. So it went with my hostas that were planted under a now deceased silver maple in less than 2 months their total root system had been invaded and was also starting to be conquered. I have heard all the stories of the beautiful gardens under the silver maple before...I only know how it went for me. And yes I broadcasted both the fertilizer and the water over the whole area not just on the hostas and perennials. Also my Maples are huge about 50+ feet tall--not immature specimens with plenty of other room to stretch their greedy roots. You will never hear me mourn for a dead silver maple...I will celebrate their demise. Plenty of other Good Trees out there... I pull weeds also even though they are alive and green. Sorry If I Offended.

Bestlawn! I could have asked you over on KT! I had two lines; one I managed to delete, but I've fumbled around so much I cannot remember what I did! Yes, I think the enter/return is what seems to trigger it. When I try to select the line, a thin vertical highlight strip appears on the left above, through, and below the line, but it will not delete. I've spent the last 20-30 minutes trying to figure it out, searching "help." But it's no big problem, I can scroll it down to the blank page and not print that page. And now that I know how to draw lines w/o triggering the other line, I'll be ok. I suppose 2007 is ok when one gets used to it, but it sure takes up a lot of time getting to that point. It has a default of 1.5 spacing, which is not that good for me. Thanks...you're the "best!"

esteban if you do have java on your pc you need to make absolutely sure you are keeping it updated to the latest version and have removed all the old versions, most of the worst infections these days are coming through java vulnerabilities. To update java go to control panel select java, open the update tab and select to update now. To make sure all old versions are removed use the free javara tool. JavaRa to make sure all of your items are updated so you are not open to infections you can scan your pc with this secunia tool. Secunia Online Software Inspector (OSI) It is extremely important to keep java, flash on all browsers and all adobe products updated.

Yah, I can't find Daikons anywhere in the super markets around me, that is what prompted me to grow them myself. What I noticed about them is the ones that were on the outside basically crowded out the rest but grew awesome. The others struggled. I think spacing is the key for me. But I always tend to crowd my plants. I am going to grow them again next year but hope to plant a few earlier so that they do bolt and go to seed. I want to harvest some of the seed. My season is nearly over. We are just one cold snap away from a frost now. I usually have all my plants pulled by the end of the first week in October. If I wasn't so busy right now, I would probably pull the last of my peppers already.

Thanks Mikie, what I need is Word 07 itself, the Program. I saw this download, but don't think it will do what I need. I need the program itself. I was hoping they offered an upgrade to 03 instead of buying the whole suite.

I have Office 03 basic on that machine. I don't use Excel, but do use Outlook and Word.

I was looking for a note taking program and MS has one called OneNote, but it needs Word 07 to work.

I think it is ridiculous that I purchased 03 a year before they released 07 and I can't upgrade without buying the whole thing. I'll keep looking,

Amazon.com sells the MS Word 2007 upgrade for $89.99 with free shipping. You might find it cheaper if you do some Web browsing.

If anyone in your household is taking any classes (Kids or Adults) you can get the Student version of Office 2007 for $119.99 and free shipping.

Thanks all. I saw that also Mikie and John. I don't know if they consider Office 03 Basic the Suite? What I have only incudes Word, Excel and Outlook. Doesn't have Powerpoint or Access.

There is no where to call. I tried asking at Staples and there was an idiot kid trying to shove Office 07 in my hand. I walked out. Microsoft should have a customer service number to ask questions about the stuff they make so much money on.

This has not been a good week.
