This the the update that a number of us had trouble installing. I had to try several times before it finally installed, and another poster installed it but kept getting a notice that it was not installed.
I'd definitely try again and then again, if necessary to download and install this. It is a rather large download, if I remember correctly.
The up date kb967715 would show in the add/remove programs list, just make sure when you go in to the add/ remove programs list that there is a check mark in the box "Show updates"
WHEW.. I finally got a 0 threat on Secunia BUT also had a this at the bottom..
Note. You have updated all of the programs installed on your PC that exposed it to security threats and which were easy to patch. Normally, these programs are also the ones exposing your PC to the greatest security risks. However, you should be aware that 24 other program(s) were also found on your PC requiring attention as well. Unfortunately, these programs are likely more difficult to patch. If you feel comfortable with e.g. uninstalling software, deleting files on your PC, then you may enjoy the "Advanced" interface (see top right) showing more in depth details about the programs found on your PC. In case you are not comfortable with this, we recommend that you ask a more technical person to assist you with these, which is also why they are not shown by default.
Dar I think I would do the same, have no idea why it would say that but then I have never done anything other than their regular scan not the advanced. Are you using the secunia online one or did you get the one to install on your pc?
Raven, I downloaded the one that is on line & installed it on my PC. Which is better? I sure hope I don't have to visit U on the other site anytime soon LOL... I hope I have done everything to protect myself from the April 1 virus. I guess we will soon know. Dar
I have that installed. The advanced scan just digs deeper then opens a copy of add/remove programs and notes which programs that might be potential security problems that it has checked and whether they are the most current versions. Up to you to uninstall or update them.
I just run the scan on demand rather than letting it sit in the tray and run once per week automatically.
Dar I generally just use the one online but both are excellent programs so either one is fine.
I just put a new post on the April 1st thread that has good info and Corrine just put a new post on her blog which is also excellent info.
If you happen to have any file sharing programs P2P programs, music sharing etc those need to be addressed and disabled for full protection with this Conficker issue.
Dar come visit me over there and play some games we are always happy to see you especially when you are not needing help LOL!
maybee and others that had the update re offered multiple times please go here and scroll to the bottom and read the directions there Update 967715 is reoffered multiple times
OK I found an online scan for Secunia. It shows Adobe Flash Player 9.x is insecure and potentially exposes my system to security threats! I looked in add & remove & I do have it IF Adobe flash player 9 active X is the same thing. I also have Adobe Flash player 10 plugin. Can I just delete Adobe flash player 9 active X? I hope I get a fast answer as April 1 is almost here.
Raven, I will be there soon to play if I ever feel secure about my computer :( I sure need a little relaxation. Dar

Still have hijackthis on the computer don't post a log but do this instead.
Double click the hijackthis Icon on the Desktop, Scroll down to ђOpen the Misc Tools section" Click it at the bottom under System tools click "Open Uninstall Manager" over to the right click "Save List" Save it to your Desktop so you may find it, copy and paste it in your next reply..

I dont see anything related to this stuff, Macromedia Flash Player 5.x Macromedia Flash Player 5.x 5.0.42.0 Macromedia Flash Player 5.x Macromedia Flash Player 6.x Macromedia Flash Player 6.x 6.0.79.0 Macromedia Flash Player 6.x
I wonder if there left over registry keys or folders in the program files folder, might be old stuff from netscape. Download this program an see if it finds anything -------> http://www.revouninstaller.com/ Or do a Start Search for Macromedia
I took care of the Adobe flash player & installed the new one.. NOW can I just hit remove on the Java 6 update 7? Is Java(TM) 6 Update 13 The latest? I did a search & found nothing on Macromedia. Should there be 2 of these: Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 How about Acrobat.com & Adobe AIR? There is 2 of them in the HJT but only 1 on Add & delete.
I also see ZoneAlarm Spy Blocker Toolbar .. do I need that? I don't have it active under View. I also have Avg security & Yahoo toolbar but don't have them checked under view.
I'm afraid to just start deleting.. I don't know what a lot of them are. Sorry to be such a pain in the neck. Dar
Good job on the adobe that is probably most inportant.
Yes hit remove on Java.
6 Update 13 Yes this is the latest one keep it.
Macromedia I would not worry about this.
Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Leave alone.
If you have hijackthis you can fix all tool bar entries those are the (03 entries), do a System scan only place a check mark in any 03 tool bar entry you don't want an click fixed checked. Only have hijackthis open when you do it close all other windows.
