I think a cluster of Chinese lanterns or globes is a great idea. This post from Tuesday shows several variations - I love the lanterns and for $50! Awesome look. Use cord covers and some sort of cover over each area (or a nice hook) from each lantern. I think it would be fairly simple to do. Please post when completed so we can see! WJ You are correct, it is not a disease. I do not think leaves will revert to 'perfect' state; there are usually little pimple-like bumps left on leaves. If the oedema blisters are large & they ruptured, they will scab over, so there will be a scabby brownish spot on the leaf. Good ventilation helps, as would lower humidity - using small fan may help. After watering, pot should not sit in a saucer with water. I do not use peat/coco peat in gritty mix. I do not use any charcoal so not sure what it will do. The mix you describe sounds quite good to me. I have semps overwintering outside, and they get covered by snow. So there is lots of moisture, but they are in very gritty mix. During summer, I do not water them, they get water when it rains. I don't remember having any oedema on semps, but I see some on few leaves of jades that were outside spring to fall. We have some humid days during summer, most likely not as high as in your location. We get reasonable rains, but it doesn't last for many days in a row. Btw, do you know what is used as a root rot preventative in the mix?

That 150 watts is the maximum wattage allowed, you can always use a smaller bulb. I concur with using a 2700 K LED, Cree is my favorite. We had a couple Nelson pendants in our last home and loved them.

I love craftsman yes, but I built my house to suit how I live and also was quite aware of my environment. If for example, I was building on acreage, I would not have built the house I built since it's a house meant for a small city lot. It works because it envelops us on the lot and creates privacy for us. Additionally, every room is only 1 room deep which allows for all the major rooms to have windows on at least two walls. And to remind you, I'm in hotter SW Florida. And my house is two story and it stays quite cool because I designed it with the proper overhangs. They are 32" which is the maximum that could be done for wind loads. Additionally my traffic patterns inside and outside the house flow well. Small houses are a good thing. However small and cramped because the layout is not good, is not a good thing. Your layout, as most of us have consistently told you is not a good thing.
