Will a 40w T12 light+7 60w work to grow
Comments (1)can you say "fire hazard". I think thats too much light in too small a space and you'll cook your rose bush. Any chance you can pull your rose bush out into the room and put a couple of 60 watt plant lights shining on it and see how the plant does. The results will depend on what your goals are with the rose bush. If you want to grow champion roses and show them at a wintertime festival then you may need a whole bunch of light. If your goal is to overwinter the bush and then sit it on your patio next springtime I believe a couple of 60W bulbs will do the trick. Good luck....See MoreLight Fixtures for 40 watt fluros
Comments (21)I just checked my fixture from Home Depote and 1 has an electronic ballast and the other doesn't. Both fixtures are the same modle # etc. but the boxes are a little different. One says SHOPLIGHT with all black letters and the other says SHOP in green and LITE in black(notice different spelling). Both are made by Lithonia Lighting, same size etc.. One has a Keystone Magnetic ballast(shoplight) and the other(shoplite) has a Wuxi HangFeng Electronic products Co. electronic ballast in it. So check wich one you get. Electronic Ballasts are supposed to be better-longer bulb life... I baught mine a couple weeks apart. They both were around $9.00 each without bulbs....See More40watt G9 bulbs-Are these bright?
Comments (14)It would be difficult to determine this in a scientific way without knowing all the variables. It is not just the lumens but how much of the light is being delivered to the spot where it is needed. Also the users perception and light temperature. But just roughly I would say it is probably a good amount of light for general use but a professional makeup artist would most likely want better lighting to prepare a model for a photo shoot....See MoreNot enough light ing driving me crazy ... 45-50 watt bulbs?
Comments (16)We have 6" lights - and a ton of them. In retrospect, I wish we had followed our dining room plan - one recessed pot in each corner and one multi-light fixture in the center of the room. It would have been a cleaner look and provided better lighting with less shadowing. But, I listened to my designer, so don't feel bad listening to your BIL... We used a 50 watt Satco BR30 halogen with high lumen output. It was amazing to see the one from HD (which was a 75 watt) in one fixture and the satco in another. The satco was much whiter and brighter. We tried the PAR style but was afraid it would be TOO much light (much more focused beam) if we used them everywhere. I'm not sure if satco makes a 4" bulb but if they do, I highly recommend them. I can't remember how much time I spent online learning about types of bulbs and lumens...way, way, way to much time!...See Morevirgilcarter
