I downloaded the free version and they took off some and left me with 2487 errors. Is it working ?I don't think so.Maybe its"me.Some people don't need a computer they should stick with the pencil and typewriter. That"s Me.
Goldy, SpywareBlaster should not be leaving you with errors. I'm not sure what happened in your case, but that doesn't seem right. I am 82 years old, and I have never had a problem with using SpywareBlaster. I am going to run it on my computer, and I will be back and try to help you find out what happened. Maybe together we can figure this out.
Raven has also suggested that you download and install WOT. I totally agree. When you do a search, do not go to any sites that are marked anything but green.
Goldy, SpywareBlaster does not remove anything from your computer. Instead, it helps protect your computer from bad stuff. When you download it, be sure to click on "enable all protection". Then it should tell you that it has protected all the browsers that you use. The number of items listed in the database is just showing you how many things it is protecting. Mine shows 15770 items in the database. Yours will probably have a different number. You do not run scans with this program. All you do is keep it updated by opening it every few weeks or once a month and click on "Update", and after it updates, then click on "enable all protection". That's it. It just helps protect your computer and does not remove anything.
Again, I would urge you to install WOT. With that, you don't do anything but pay attention to the ratings it gives different sites and stay away from anything that is not shown with a green circle.
ok this is the third time I am posting these instructions on yet a different thread.
SpywareBlasterSpywareBlaster click on the big green download button on the right when that takes you to the next page follow the continue on with free download on the left do NOT go to the right and get the one with auto update that is just a trial. With that program you have to open it once a week click on the update button let it get updates then click on the enable all updates so the shield turns green. That is it, it sits in the background protecting you. No scans to run just update it.
you need to show us what it is you went and downloaded and installed.
and here again are the instructions for WOT for the browser do you have WOT installed on your browser to help tell you what sites are dangerous? if not please install it now. It comes for each type of browser just get the one that is for the browser you use. Add WOT to your browser to protect yourself from online threats that anti-virus software canâÂÂt spot Download the WOT add-on be sure you pick the one for which ever browser you are using if IE get that one if firefox get that one etc.
once you have spywareblaster installed all you have to do is hit the update button, check for updates, let it update, then you'll see right there where it says enable all protection, click that. then it will turn the shield green and that's it you are done. Do that update and enable protection every week or two. Nothing else. super easy. Open, hit update, hit enable protection, done. Don't try to change anything it is set as it should be, and it doesn't remove anything from your PC nor does it find any errors.
Hang in there Goldy you are getting good advice just take it all in one at a time. If I remember you are around the same age as Grandms. SpywareBlaster is easy to install and just sits there protecting your computer. You will just have to remember to update it if you chose to do so manually. Edited to add... there was an upgrade to version 5.0

Following your advice, I installed WOT on my Mac some time ago.
When I tried to download it on my PC this AM, I got a pop-up saying WOT is "not compatable" with FF 11. Huh? In looking at the WOT site, it says FF11 is recommended.
Well first why are you on firefox 11 that is an old version there have been lots of security updates since then I believe we are on version 19 or 20 currently so maybe you should update firefox then try WOT again. I know WOT will work with old versions so I really have no idea why it would give you that warning. You are getting the one for firefox right? Let us know if updating firefox still did not help.
