If I have an open window and I want to open the same again in a new window what is the most simple approach?

An alternative, if you are browsing the internet, is to right-click on the link and choose 'open in new window' in the pop-up panel.

Low-e coatings don't reflect much of the visible spectrum, so if the product was only heat mirror w/o low-e, the VLT would only be a few % more - nearly insignificant. Sound deadening occurs because as sound waves pass through the dissimilar materials glass, air, HM, air, glass, each medium vibrates with a different frequency which diminishes transmission. Argon gas is also effective at noise reduction in IGU's and the thicker the IGU, the better the sound reduction. A single piece of 1/4" plate glass has a STC (sound transmission class) rating of 31. 1" conventional IGU's are rated at about 34 and the same product with heat mirror is rated at 36, so I would rate the difference as fairly insignificant & not too important as a consideration. Though I cannot quote exact numbers without looking it up, I can say that I believe argon gas makes a considerable difference in noise reduction. Without fail, when we install argon filled windows in a noise-rich environment, the home owner invariably comments on how much quieter the home is. I could not go back to NOT using tabs can not even imagine it. Once you start and get used to how much time it saves you and how easy it is to do you will quickly start to love them. Plus it is easier on your pc to have only mulitple tabs open rather than having multiple instances of complete windows open. This is one thing I love about tabs. I can set up a folder up on the bookmarks toolbar in that folder I put the links to every site I visit every day, like this forum, the other forums I am on, my netvibes page which contains all my rss news feeds, my email sites. Then in the morning I go to that folder easily accessible on the top of the firefox bar right click on it and select open all in tabs. Bam immediately I have my full list of tabs open in one movement now that is a huge time saver, They are there open and ready for me to visit one after the other. I have another folder up there called tools in that one I have the links to all the security programs I have to recommend or list many times a day when helping people with pc issues, I do not have to go looking in favorites or google or where ever for them I have them all right there in that folder on my bookmarks toolbar, I left click the folder go to the one I need right click it to open in new tab and I am there. Huge asset.

Wow...love dictionary explanations. wyosue - you can't remove mullions, they are structural. When you order a couple of windows or a window and a door joined-together from the factory they are "mulled" or physically connected with a mullion - and to add a bit more trivia, the decorative piece that covers the mullion (where the windows are physically connected) is called an astragal - not that the term really matters to your question ;-) When you look at a window with the bars covering the glass - what I think was your original question - those bars are called muntins. You can get them removable or you can order them permanently attached. You have a number of options with muntin bars including not getting tham at all. So if you want clear glazing without the muntin bars then order clear glazing without muntin bars. It is your house...it may ultimately make an interesting architectural statement or it may not even be noticeable - but ultimately you are the one who has to live there so do what feels right to you.

I think the 44" windows sill height he is mentioning in violation note doesn't go with 312.1.2 code because this code is referring to, stairs, guard rails, and balconies. The 44" sill height goes with 310.2.2 to meet egress for rescue windows located below grade if you have a bedroom in the basement. What is the height of your window sill in question from the floor? I think he made a mistake with the code number and he meant to use 312.2.1 if your window in question has a sill less than 24" from the floor you have to provide a window with fall protection device or guard. Something like this Or this if the window is casement I would call them or better yet stop by and make sure the code violation they noted is the right one and what requirements you need to comply with. My Cont-N gives me Google Advanced Search in the new window. Is this a FireFox thing or is it in my set-up somewhere?

(I knew about the right click thing. In the OP I should have ask about how to do it from the keyboard.)

Ctrl+N has opened New duplicate IE windows for as long as I can remember plus New duplicate MMC windows too. Might be something else it opens.

Firefox says Ctrl+N opens a new window

ps, for links to open in a new window I usually hold down Ctrl or Shift while clicking the link.... Ctrl opens in new Tab, Shift opens in new window.

Hope I am understanding you correctly.

With your original window open, press F6 to highlight the address. Then Control+C to copy the address. Control+N for new window. Then again F6, Control+V to paste the new address..then press GO or enter.

Not to simple I guess *LOL*

I've used Ctl N for years and it always opens duplicate page. I just tried it here and it worked.

In IE (internet explorer), CTRL-N does it (new same window), but in Firefox, CRTL-N just opens a new window to your default home page. So IE wins that battle.

My solution in Firefox is to copy the address in the address bar (R-click, copy, CTRL-N, R-click, paste, Enter)

OK, I think I got. I did some fiddling with default page. FireFox and IE just have different cont-n.
