If I have an open window and I want to open the same again in a new window what is the most simple approach?

An alternative, if you are browsing the internet, is to right-click on the link and choose 'open in new window' in the pop-up panel.

Ahh yes, the math skills are really horrible (I don't know if this is just an epidemic in WV or if the whole US is calculator spoiled). I'll never forget one time I was at McDonald's and my total came to something like $4.96 and I gave her a $5...she messed up the register and was completely lost as to how much to give me back. I said "it's just 4 cents, don't worry about it"...but she said "well, then my register will be off"...so I waited for her to go get her supervisor who proceeded to use a calculator to figure up my change. I was completely dumbfounded. I'm not sure those were the exact amounts..but it was very simple math...so sad. The bad thing is I've seen several examples similar to this. For a short while while I was in college, I worked at Shoney's. I ended up quitting after about a month or so because the supervisor kept forcing me to work over when I had exams yo study for and things I really needed to get home to...but when I went in to quit, the manager came into the office and tried to talk me out of it because they had been having trouble finding people who can count back change! Amazing to me.

I have "dealt" with the elderly for years and truly understand their strong reluctance to change! You are lucky that they have let you change as much as you have. Of course, many of us (IF IT WERE OUR HOME) would have jumped in there and painted the knotty pine walls to lighten things up, ordered light colored upholstery, changed out the flooring, etc. But it is not our home - IT IS THEIR'S. In their minds, if something works - it is just fine! You are to be congratulated for helping them do this much. It will be clean, it will be comfortable, it will be familiar, and it will be home. That is all that matters. I will throw in a couple of suggestions - it looks like the drapes are new, but with all the neutral brown tones and knotty pine, a colorful, print drape would look nice - something like a jacobean or paisley print, perhaps with some greens, blues, terra-cotta combinations. Also, colors like that in the throw pillows. Love those orange lamps if they work when you get finished. I bet your mom likes those bright colors! Tuesday (A daughter and daughter-in-law - know what you are dealing with).

Wow...love dictionary explanations. wyosue - you can't remove mullions, they are structural. When you order a couple of windows or a window and a door joined-together from the factory they are "mulled" or physically connected with a mullion - and to add a bit more trivia, the decorative piece that covers the mullion (where the windows are physically connected) is called an astragal - not that the term really matters to your question ;-) When you look at a window with the bars covering the glass - what I think was your original question - those bars are called muntins. You can get them removable or you can order them permanently attached. You have a number of options with muntin bars including not getting tham at all. So if you want clear glazing without the muntin bars then order clear glazing without muntin bars. It is your house...it may ultimately make an interesting architectural statement or it may not even be noticeable - but ultimately you are the one who has to live there so do what feels right to you.

how apropos!! I am surprised they determined her asbestos exposure was due to her talcum powder use so many years ago... I guess they ruled out all other possible exposures...a lifetime exposes you to so much stuff!! she must have been a big powder user... and predisposed to the ca... but, I think it's a good thing limiting how many particles of 'stuff' you breathe in... even if you don't have issues with asthma, etc... I have often wondered about gymnasts and other athletes that use large quantities of rosin on a regular basis and breathe in the dust... the particles are probably larger than talcum powder, but still...

My Cont-N gives me Google Advanced Search in the new window. Is this a FireFox thing or is it in my set-up somewhere?

(I knew about the right click thing. In the OP I should have ask about how to do it from the keyboard.)

Ctrl+N has opened New duplicate IE windows for as long as I can remember plus New duplicate MMC windows too. Might be something else it opens.

ps, for links to open in a new window I usually hold down Ctrl or Shift while clicking the link.... Ctrl opens in new Tab, Shift opens in new window.

Hope I am understanding you correctly.

With your original window open, press F6 to highlight the address. Then Control+C to copy the address. Control+N for new window. Then again F6, Control+V to paste the new address..then press GO or enter.

Not to simple I guess *LOL*

I've used Ctl N for years and it always opens duplicate page. I just tried it here and it worked.

In IE (internet explorer), CTRL-N does it (new same window), but in Firefox, CRTL-N just opens a new window to your default home page. So IE wins that battle.

My solution in Firefox is to copy the address in the address bar (R-click, copy, CTRL-N, R-click, paste, Enter)

OK, I think I got. I did some fiddling with default page. FireFox and IE just have different cont-n.
