Rotten Present!!

I had a lovely day on Christmas Eve with my family going to 3:00PM Candlelight Service, then to our home for snacks, gift exchange, and Christmas Eve dinner.

BUT, I started getting the most rotten present: a ginormous
RED zit on the end of my nose!! I looked like Rudolph, LOL and by Christmas morning the entire end of my nose was red!

I think it was a horrible joke on the part of the universe as a very bad birthday present!! Who would think at my age I'd still be getting big zits?? Yikes, another year older and a giant pimple on top of it! Isn't it enough to add another candle to the cake without adding insult to injury, LOL??

My Mom, youngest DD and her family came over for Christmas morning brunch and we had a lovely time. Cody (4) had on his snow boots and when he came in he was trying to remove them, so my DH told him to just sit down and yank those babies off. Cody in all seriousness replied "Papa, they're not babies, they're BOOTS!"

My DSIL sent me the picture from his phone and I couldn't figure out how to resize it. Sorry its so big.

So I had a nice Christmas/birthday except for the blinking red nose!

I will light a candle for you Greenbeanie and say 3 Hail Mary Margaritas ,in hopes that all remains sane for the rest of the season for you. More tales from the landscaping crypt. Chapter Two The Shyster A well coiffed client who has used my design and installation services now feels she has access to my wholesale nursery vendors. She tells her maintenance gardener to pick her up a few shrubberies from my wholesaler . The maintenance gardener tells the client that he cannot purchase from this particular nursery because he does not have an account there and that only a licensed contractors purchase from this wholesale distributor. The client tells the maintenance man to put it on my account and if they ask tell the nursery that he works for me. Fortunately my wholesaler , Landscapes Unlimited in Petaluma CA, knows me and my crew well and when the maintenance man says he works for me the sales person behind the desk calls my office to verify. Needless to say the wholesale nursery throws the maintenance man out and I make a phone call to the client to get her side of the story. She concurs, she sent the maintenance gardener up to the nursery to purchase plants on my account and didn't see the harm in it. Not. .. and that was the end of that working relationship.

Thanks everyone for suggestions. Additional information 1. Insulation was wet and therefore has to be replaced. 2. Wall board is rotten, tyvek still present intact between wallboard and sidings. 3. Water leak identified as through the interior (tile grout) Now have following task that needs to be completed: 1. Remove sidings 2. remove Wallboard/tyvek. 3. Install couple of 2x4 alongside very partially deroded studs. 4. Replace insulation 5. Install Cement board 6. Install tiles Can I just undertake steps 3, 5 and 6 now and rest in Spring, as sidings may crack or break if i meddle with them in 30 deg temperature or do i have to necessary take care of exterior first (step 1 to 4) before i take up step 5 and 6. please do let us know your recommendations. The other two cats don't go out the doggie door because they hate the dogs(they're both just haters!) .They stay upstairs all day (2 bedrooms and a big hallway.)until the dogs go to bed,then come down.By then I have the doggie doors shut.I spend a couple hours with them before I go to bed and on the weekends,I sleep on the couch with them. They are still so mean to Spitz and Kissy. Just rotten haters is what they are! LOL! But they love people,go figure. Going to go watch that video...I fully expect Spitz to start barking soon.

My Cats all get presents and then they have a stocking I fill with treats and catnip. I learned very early to hang the stockings very high. The first year I put the nip in the stocking and laid it on the couch Christmas eve with everyone else's. I got up in the morning to 3 strung out cats all laying half off the couch on their backs covered in nip. The funniest part was these 3 hated each other but for that one glorious Christmas Eve they all got drunk together and passed out on the couch, This year I have fish too plus my (cough) 8 indoor cats and 2 stray cats. My beta George is people friendly and loves to be petted. (I know strange) but comes to the top and I rub his back lol. Anyways I found beta toys online so I bought him a few to play with since he will follow your fingers through the water and bounces his moss ball around his tank and generally seems like he likes to play. He will even come from the bottom of his tank when I call him even when it's not dinner time. My friends think it's hysterical he will follow me calling him around his 3 gal tank.

Rafor, I'm prejudiced, but with her curls and red Christmas dress, striped tights, and reindeer booties, I couldn't help but brag a bit.

PM, no new dishes this year, just another year older and a big red zit! Seriously, why did it have to be right at the end of my nose? Rhetorical question, LOL It did, however, feel like I was the victim of some giant cosmic prank.

Does anyone have any fun/fantastic New Years plans?

Sorry to hear you didn't get any new dishes or fun stuff, Candy. I don't know if I did or not -- my family hasn't opened xmas presents yet! we're waiting for my sister and her family to drive in from out-of-state.... we would *like* to have a NYEve party, but are currently weather-watching for them to make the drive. :p

Adorable gr'child!!

Now I can relate to the 'rest of the story'...once told @a young age that I would outgrow the dreaded acne by the time I was a gr'mother! SURE!!! Wonder if that guy is alive yet!!! I'm a gr-gr'ma now & it could have been me, candy! LOL!

Candy, had to chuckle with the Rudolph nose. I'm sure
it was all the stress or maybe to much FUDGE(LOL)
that brought it on. Little ones are so fun. I can just
hear DGS saying "Papa, they're not babies, they're BOOTS!"

Dylan is growing up fast and still darling. My little
DGD is so sick and running a high fever. Darn flu bugs,
makes me feel sad and helpless.

That picture is just adorable! She's a keeper for sure! Sorry about the zit, don't you know they always appear at the most inappropriate times--well, actually there's never a good time for one! LOL

Punk, I hope your DGD is feeling better.

I'm sure it was probably a combo of stress and fudge!! And, cookies, and cake, and peanut brittle, etc, LOL!
